Adolfo Utor takes a big bite out of Prisa: the owner of Baleària acquires 5,4% of the El País and La SER group

The president of the Baleària shipping company, Adolfo Utor, has been the protagonist of an important movement in the media sector. The businessman has acquired a large package of shares in Prisa, making him the owner of 5,4% of the group.

Utor's is one of the top 100 Spanish fortunes, which the magazine Forbes valued at 350 million euros. In addition to the profits amassed from Baleària's businesses, it has stakes in large companies such as Santander (4,1%) or Internacional Media Group (3,61%).

Although he was already a minority shareholder of the communication group to which La SER and El País belong, with this movement he becomes one of the main ones. It has acquired almost 59 million shares, valued at 37 cents each. In total, he has invested around 20 million euros in Prisa.
