This is how Dénia's beaches will be this summer: new lifeguard company, public address system and an electric scooter

May 26 from 2022 - 11: 40

This Wednesday, the City Council of Dénia has presented the novelties of the season of beaches 2022. Pepe Doménech, the councilor responsible for the area, has announced to the media what will be the most significant changes compared to previous years.

The surveillance and lifeguard service, awarded this year to the Eulen company, is extended over time and will be provided from June 9 to October 9. The service hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. during the months of June, September and October, and are extended in high season, July and August, with hours from 10:30 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. 18 lifeguards will be assigned to this task on the beach in mid-season and 56 during the two months of high season. Surveillance and lifeguard personnel will also be in charge of the surveillance service for access to Cueva Cortada, from June 15 to July 31, in the afternoons, from 14:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m. The afternoons of the months of August and September will be assumed by the City Council of Xàbia and during the mornings, he will make it staff of the Montgó Natural Park.

As improvements proposed by the concessionaire, this year an informative public address system is incorporated in the health posts, new wooden platforms and three new awnings will be installed, one to renew the Punta del Raset and another two to provide the beaches of Almadrava and Deveses, which they did not have. Likewise, public toilets are increased, placing in Almadrava, Deveses and Punta Molins, with which there will be a total of 15 on the Dianense beaches.

Adapted and sustainable beaches

The measures to improve the contract also favor energy efficiency, since the security guards Les Rotes they will travel with electric scooters and also, as in past seasons, hybrid boats and quads will be used. In addition, the lifeguard booths will be supplied with solar energy, "which will mean savings in electricity consumption by importing for the city council", the councilor has indicated.

Accessibility is another point on which work has been done on the beaches. Flags will be hoisted on the state of the sea adapted to color blind people in the eight posts with lifeguard booths. The four accessible beaches that the city has -Punta Raset, Marineta Cassiana, Marines and Bovetes- They will work from July 1 to August 31, except for Punta del Raset, which will be in service from June 15 to September 15, "fifteen days more than last year". This beach will be equipped with a new adapted changing room, with the capacity to place changing tables for babies inside. To obtain this kit, the Dénia City Council has requested a grant of 12.000 euros from the Generalitat Valenciana in the line of aid for improving accessibility to the physical environment. Also for the purchase of catwalks.

The Marge Roig turns blue against the smoke

As for the smoke-free beaches, Pepe Doménech has reported that Marge Roig beach, a section of Marineta Cassiana, has been renewed, and the signage of this area has been enhanced by painting the wall of the promenade in blue. and the placement of a new information panel, indicating the prohibition of smoking on that stretch of beach.

Regarding the information on the beaches, the councilor has indicated that 11 new behavior panels have been installed, renovating part of those of les Rotes and incorporating new ones. To keep citizens informed, the Telegram channel, launched last year with very good reception, continues and a new App has been created with which users will find daily updated information of interest such as the bathing flags that wave on each beach, the capacity, the state of the sea or the number of attendances registered each day.

The City Council has also carried out improvement works such as the repair of a section of Paseo de les Rotes, between Punta Negra and the Sendra restaurant ravine and has repaired the Trampolí esplanade, with an investment of 6.000 euros. New signage will also be placed this year at the entrances to the beaches of Las Marines, highlighting the services that each platform has, as was done last year at les Rotes.

New offers of the season

At the request of the local government, Turisme Comunitat Valenciana has renovated the two gaming pyramids in Marines, a claim that emerged in the Local Council for Children and Adolescents.

The beaconing of the beaches also has a new concessionaire and may begin to be installed as of June 2, the date scheduled for the signing of the contract. As a notable novelty, the Councilor for Beaches has pointed out that in the 16 entry and exit channels distributed along the coast, fewer concrete dead bodies will be placed, there will only be in the closest buoy and in the one furthest from the beach, which has repercussions favorably in the protection of posidonia.

The biblioplatja, another of the services that the Dénia City Council began to provide last year and was successful among users, also extended this year.

Finally, the councilor has commented on other aspects such as the fact that the cleaning of the beaches will be reinforced with more personnel and machinery as of June 15; that the trenet de les Rotes service has been extended by one month and will be provided from June 15 to September 15 and, likewise, the number of seats has doubled public parking on the grounds of the old miniature golf.

The investment made in beaches this year by the City Council amounts to 2 million euros: 1 million euros in cleaning services, 700.000 euros in surveillance and lifeguard services, over 60.000 euros in beaconing and improvement works, and 23.000 euros in public toilets, among other expenses.

  1. Input says:

I would like to know why the Lavapiés on some beaches do not work, if they have worked with the Covid, why this year, free of restrictions, do they not work? Thank you

  2. Jaume says:

The City Council has to prohibit dogs from going to shit on the beach.
Many unscrupulous take their dogs early in the morning to shit on the beach.

  3. Jaume says:

Many unscrupulous take their dogs to shit on the beach early in the morning.
Then the children play in the sand and get dirty with dog shit.
The City Council must signal the prohibition of taking dogs to the beach, and sanction non-compliance.
Not only do you have to clean the beach, it is more important not to dirty it.

  4. Elizabeth Aragon says:

I agree with the comment about the control of dogs on the beach. It would not hurt to put watchmen to ensure compliance with the rules on the beaches, since calls for attention by individuals sometimes, as has happened to me, receive aggressive responses.

  5. Jopelin says:

And when will the operation of the lavapiés?
Last year it was in the middle of July. ….WE REPEAT: MIDDLE OF JULY Mr. Mayor

  6. sophia rodriguez says:

I wish that they clean all the beaches well and not like last years that only cleans half of it, as all summer we had the beach dirty with rotten algae

  7. Rosa Maria says:

If they clean the beaches every day, as they do all over the Spanish coast, I'm satisfied. I will be attentive because I am a regular at the beach throughout the summer. Thank you
Post the messages please. It doesn't matter if it's duplicated or tripled. We vacationers like clean beaches

    • Alberto says:

Aren't you ashamed to have such dirty beaches? Doesn't it bother them that the footbaths don't work? It does not give them with Q the wooden accesses are broken?. Nor that there are no bins? Tick tock, tick tock

    • Pep says:

Els noms propis I thought I couldn't translate them. Dir-li to the “Cova Tallà”, the “Cueva Cortada”….

      • Jopelin says:

It is a matter of education that if the article is written in Spanish and we are all writing in Spanish, you come and write in Catalan.

  8. Rosa Maria says:

If they clean the beaches every day, as they do all over the Spanish coast, I'm satisfied. I will be attentive because I am a regular at the beach throughout the summer. Thank you

  9. Jose Manuel Angulo Rivas says:

I miss a call to dog owners to respect the general prohibition of not introducing their animals in the arenas with special emphasis on not having them loose. I find this more important than the question of smoking or not smoking (I am not a smoker, for the record)

    • Jopelin says:

The one to call is the police. If a dog owner walks by the beach in high season, he knows, just like the others, that it is forbidden and it is worth nothing to call his attention. You can find yourself with an outburst

      • anonymous says:

Perr@s do not urinate or defecate in the sea and people do. That they can take a bath in the morning or run for a while on the beach seems necessary to me. The problem is not the dogs but the lack of education and civility of their owners.
I see a big problem with parking and overnight stays in Las Rotas from Trampolí to El Sendra of motorhomes and vans occupying the entire coast without being able to park those of us who live and are from Denia or enjoy the walk with sea views.
This really seems important to me that it be controlled and monitored much more than whether or not the dogs can walk freely (without disturbing) or take a morning bath.
