Baleària increases passenger traffic by 10% in the Strait Crossing Operation

Baleària The passenger and vehicle traffic between the Peninsula and North Africa has increased by 10% during Operation Crossing the Strait compared to the same period last year. From June 15 to September 15, the shipping company has transported more than 1.400.000 passengers and 360.000 vehicles on its nine lines involved in the campaign.

During this period, Baleària has carried out more than 5.000 journeys, 5% more than last year, on its connections with the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla (Algeciras-Ceuta, Almería-Melilla, Motril-Melilla and Málaga-Melilla), with Morocco (Almería-Nador, Algeciras-Tangier Med and Motril-Tangier Med) and Algeria (Valencia-Mostaganem and Alicante-Oran). To meet the high demand concentrated on these routes, the shipping company has allocated twelve ships, including ferries and fast ferries, which represents more than a third of its fleet.
