Baleària expands its routes to Algeria with connections to Algiers and Oran

02 October 2024 - 08: 48

The Spanish shipping company Baleària will expand its services to Algeria with new routes that will be gradually activated in the coming weeks, allowing to diversify both the ports of departure (Valencia and Barcelona) and those of the North African country (Algiers, Oran and Mostaganem). It should be noted that Baleària has been operating in Algeria since 2016 and currently operates a weekly connection between Valencia and Mostaganem.

Starting next October 18, Baleària will add a second weekly connection with Algeria, offering a service between the port of Valencia and Algiers, complementing its link with Mostaganem. Later, towards the end of December, the shipping company will have three weekly departures, with the opening of a new connection between the port of Valencia and Oran. Finally, from January 15, Baleària will launch a new service that, for the first time, will link Barcelona with Algiers, in addition to maintaining two weekly connections from Valencia: one fixed with the Algerian capital and another that will alternate between Oran and Mostaganem every week.

"With this new schedule, we are improving maritime connectivity between Algeria and Spain, offering quality services and more route options to meet the needs of our customers," he said. Georges Bassoul, general director of Baleària"We are pleased to be operating for the first time from the port of the Algerian capital, connecting it with two of the most important ports in Spain, such as Valencia and Barcelona," added Bassoul.

The company's ferries that will operate on these routes have accommodations in cabins and seats, as well as services such as a cafeteria, shop and restaurant. In addition, Baleària offers services adapted to the needs of passengers on these routes: Passenger assistants speak Arabic and French, bars and restaurants serve halal food, and there are areas dedicated to prayer during the journey. The company also has a telephone service in Arabic for answering questions.
