The 13th edition of the Dénia Boat Show canceled

26 March 2020 - 14: 22

The organization Boat Show de Dénia has decided to cancel its 13th edition, which was to be held from April 30 to May 3. “Since the crisis of COVID-19 began, we have been very attentive to the development of events. The extension by the Government of Spain of the state of alarm and the situation we are experiencing has made us take the decision to cancel our boat show ", assures Gabriel Martínez, director of Marina de Denia.

The Dénia Boat Show is one of the first nautical competitions of the year and if it is not held in the coming months, it will be very difficult for it to take place in another month. "Barcelona or Valencia are two important fairs that have their date in October and November, so we find it difficult to locate the Dénia salon on a date to which nautical companies can adjust"says Gabriel Martínez.

The Marina and Tourist Port of Dénia, organizer of the event, has already started working on the strategy to follow in the face of this exceptional situation. “First of all we are talking to all the exhibitors and sponsors to support them and assure them that if we do not have a show this year, we will have it next year. We are clear about the strength of the nautical sector. In fact, our show arose from the 2007 crisis. Now is the time to support and help each other, to emerge successfully, again, from another adverse situation ”Martinez comments.

The director of the Dénia Boat Show also thanks the support of the show's collaborating companies, Metropol Náuticas, Pantaenius Spain and the institutions, Dénia City Council and Turisme Comunitat Valenciana.
