Compromís claims in Dénia to the central government that they give up the powers of the commuter network

22 June 2021 - 16: 51

A decent, economical and sustainable railway network. That is what several leaders of Compromís at the door of the Dénia train station. The event was attended by the deputies in Les Corts, Josep Nadal and Papi Robles, the provincial deputy Gerard Fullana, the spokesman for Compromís per Dénia, Rafa Carrió and various councilors of the Valencian formation in the Marina Alta.

The representatives of Compromís have denounced the lack of political will of the different central governments, both from the PP as the PSOE. "They have been concerned about satisfying their social class that uses the AVE but they have not invested in the commuter network used by working people," Nadal began by explaining that, like his colleagues, he has complained that the Valencian Community is the worst hit in terms of investment in suburban areas for decades.

But the situation in the Marina Alta is even worse than in the rest of the Valencian territory, "in the Valencià Country there are many cancellations and delays in the trains but the case of the Marina Alta is even worse because here there is no direct network of surroundings ", Nadal sentenced.

Fullana, meanwhile, has reproached Adif for vetoing Compromís' campaign in defense of the railway network: "We wanted to carry out a campaign within Renfe but we have received a letter telling us that it was not allowed and that is why we are at the gates of the stations, although the government and Adif want to cover up this situation. " In turn, the deputy from Xaló has been very angry at the impossibility of going by public transport from his municipality Xaló to Alicante, without taking 10 hours.

Carrió: «That they give us the powers»

Carrió was the first to mention Compromís's solution to make the Gandía-Oliva-Dénia train a reality. "If there has been no political will from the governments of PP and PSOE, let them give us the powers." In addition, the leader in Dénia has defended this neighborhood to "structure our territory and ensure that there is sustainable, safe and cheap transport".

Finally, the spokesperson for Compromís per València and regional deputy, Papi Robles, has also referred to Compromís' fatigue in the face of a situation that is not progressing and on which solutions are not put by the Central Government. "We are tired of asking for it, the 3.000 million of the budget have never been executed and that is why we want the transfer of powers, to dignify the network, that there are no longer trains that run on diesel and, of course, that in the Marina Alta there are minimal communication ".

All the leaders of Compromís have agreed that neither the PP nor the PSOE is interested in having this network of neighborhoods become a reality and that, perhaps, if there is political pressure and it may have an electoral cost, perhaps the largest parties at the national level will start let's move. "It is necessary to remember that the amendment of the train has voted it in contract the deputies of PP and PSOE by Alicante", has sentenced Fullana.
