Yesterday, Wednesday, October 18, at 19 p.m., the municipal library of Dénia hosted the I Conference of the University of Valencia, framed within the program of parallel activities of Dénia Festival of the Humanities, whose official programming will take place from October 26 to 28 in the capital of the Marina Alta.
The Conference had the participation of the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the UV, Albert Moncusi, and Antonio Ariño, professor of Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences, graduate in Geography and History and doctor in Sociology from the University of Valencia .
Ariño offered an interesting conference on the Social challenges of the XNUMXst century, or as the professor emeritus of the UV described, "the revolution of long lives", and what are the repercussions in today's society of these more intense and extensive lives, due to the increase in people's longevity and the hope of life.
This I UV Conference also served to carry out the unofficial presentation of the activities of the University of Valencia within the project linked to the Humanitats Festival, and which involves the creation of a UV Social Sciences Classroom in Dénia, where Topics such as gender and equality, society and culture, globalization and inequalities and policy reformulation will be worked on. The activities of this classroom will continue throughout the year and will converge in the 2024 edition of the Festival de les Humanitats.

Dénia Festival de les Humanitats is an initiative promoted by the Dénia City Council and Baleària, organized by the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation, under the academic direction of Joseph Ramoneda and Jordi Alberich (La Maleta de PortBou) and the special collaboration of Fundación la Caixa. This festival promises an enriching intellectual experience and a meeting point to explore and share the frontiers of human knowledge.
