The Dénia City Council has acquired two works by the Dénia-based painter, Jaime Costa Tur, to incorporate them into the archive of the municipal artistic collection. The works will be exhibited in the hall of the House of Culture so that the interested public can enjoy them.

These are two watercolors on paper, one 35x50 and the other 50x70 cm., Valued at 3 and 000 euros, respectively. The works are costumist and picturesque prints of the townspeople by the sea as they carry out their daily seafaring tasks, one of the painter's favorite themes.

The city council already has another work by the artist, which Costa Tur donated to the city of Dénia in 2013 after the retrospective exhibition that took place in the Center d'Art L'Estacio. In this case, the protagonist of the painting is the Montgo, another of the artist's passions.

Faced with the longed-for will of the artist, the owners of the works could be as generous as he, even temporarily.

Those 8000 euros would not be better spent on social services, now so necessary.
The artist would understand it and could give the paintings temporarily, of course, so that lovers of painting could be admired.
Or wait for European funds to help against the covid, as our government does with the 100 …… ..
