Dénia advances its Smart Tourist Destination strategy through the Interdepartmental Technical Commission

November 05 from 2024 - 15: 17

The Dénia City Council has held a new session of the Interdepartmental Technical Commission (CTI), a governance body dedicated to the coordination of tourism policies that seeks to consolidate Dénia as a benchmark for Smart Tourism Destination (DTI). The meeting, chaired by the mayor Vicent Grimalt and with the participation of representatives from various technical areas, it focused on evaluating the progress of the DTI master plan and the achievements of the Dénia Smart Office, a technical office that leads the process of digitalization and tourism sustainability in the city.

The CTI's mission is not only to ensure cohesion between the different municipal areas, but also to promote innovation through high-impact technological projects. These initiatives not only optimize municipal resources for the benefit of residents, but also enrich the experience of visitors, providing useful data to adapt the tourist offer to their needs and expectations.

Main topics covered

The meeting agenda included topics of great relevance for the development of the DTI:

The structure of the CTI and the responsibilities of its members were formalised, confirming the continuity of this governance mechanism through regular meetings to monitor projects and keep Dénia in constant evolution as a Smart Tourist Destination.

The progress of the DTI master plan was reviewed, which includes strategic projects in sustainability, accessibility and digitalisation, fundamental pillars for the development of tourism in Dénia.

The Dénia Smart Office presented a summary of the milestones achieved, including the design of an innovative tool to monitor key information in tourism decision-making. This system will allow the analysis of visitor flows, the evaluation of the destination's online reputation and the measurement of the economic impact of tourism, which will be essential to advance the city's sustainability strategy.

The Gota fria flood in Valencia has swept away everything, residents, tourists, infrastructure, everything, due to the neglect and apathy of the authorities. The flood has not chosen between right-wing or left-wing voters, they have all been swallowed up. Come on Jopelin, stop politicizing. Mazón from the PP and Sanchez from the PSOE. It doesn't matter which party we are, we are just fodder for them.

"Smart tourist destination" ... if a cold snap like the one in Valencia comes here, the response of the authorities will be exactly the same, none.
So take that “smart tourist destination” and throw it into the nearest bin.

  3. Luis says:

A smart tourist destination is one that:
-It does not destroy its territory: Dénia has destroyed it and is not going to restore it
-The city is not oversaturated: Dénia is oversaturated for two months a year. There are too many tourists.
-Take care of the environment: Dénia ignores everything. It does nothing.

Let's say that "smart tourism" is an oxymoron.

Enough of those of us who live here being made fun of.
    Enough of so many tourists!!!!

I don't live off tourism in Dénia...
Who knows if he lives off of one of the many political shacks that swarm around this Spain of ours, so full of progressives.

He is one of those who deny climate change, who considered the warnings to be an intrusion into freedom, who think that economic activity must be protected above all else, and who then, when things happen, get information from Iker Jiménez and Yoko Ono is to blame for everything.

Translation by Jopelin: Since I live off tourism, I don't give a damn about anything
