Dénia celebrates a successful San Silvestre 2024 with a record participation

The traditional San Silvestre race filled the streets of Dénia once again on the afternoon of Monday 30th December, closing the year with an event full of sport, costumes and a good atmosphere. This year, the race broke the record for participation and 'good vibes', consolidating itself as one of the most eagerly awaited Christmas events in Dénia. the Marina Alta.

With an increase in the registration limit from 700 to 750 participants, the 2024 edition became the most crowded to date. The San Silvestre de Dénia not only set a record for participants, but was also the last Christmas race of the year in the region.

The race started at 19:30 p.m. from the Plaza de la Constitución, under the Dénia Town Hall. Both the start and finish were located at this central point, while the 4,6-kilometre route offered runners and walkers a unique layout through the streets of the city.

Organised by the Dénia Corre Club in collaboration with the Dénia Town Hall, the race was not only focused on sport, but also on fun and the Christmas spirit. In addition to the prizes awarded to the top five finishers in the male and female categories, the event stood out for its surprises and the long-awaited costume contest.

In the individual costume category, the prize went to a creative reindeer costume, while in the group category, the award went to the 'La Lotería de Navidad' team, represented by runners from the Esportiu Llebeig Club. Xàbia.

The organisation thanked the enthusiasm and involvement of the attendees, who filled the route with joy, Christmas spirit and thousands of euros with the singing of the girls of San Ildefonso.

The San Silvestre de Dénia 2024 closed the Christmas racing calendar with a resounding success, setting the bar high for future editions.
