This October, Dénia will celebrate a series of activities, in addition to 'Renovat', a renewable energy fair. The initiative was born on the occasion of Sustainability Week and as a pre-event to Dénia Festival of the Humanities.
"Bringing together humanities and environmentalism gives rise to critical thinking and helps to provide solutions for today and tomorrow," said the Councillor for the Environment, Sandra Gertrúdix, who was accompanied at the presentation of the initiative by Juan Vicente Catalá, Technical Engineer of the Dénia City Council.
The 'Sustainability Week' will take place from October 15 to 18, culminating with the fair on the 19th"It is a space where we want to offer information and tools to citizens so that they are aware of the importance that ecology and renewable energies have on our planet and what they can do to help," said Gertrúdix.
The councillor has reported that this initiative will include debates, talks and round tables. "It will offer the maximum information on a sector that includes individuals, companies, professionals, administrations and associations, from various economic sectors (tourism, transport, services, construction, food distribution, leisure or ecology).
As for the 'Renovat' fair, it will also be a space where citizens can be involved in the conservation of the planet through environmental education activities related to sustainability and environmentalism: workshops for children and families, environmental routes and visits to companies in the sector.
"Knowledge, social innovation and creativity are the starting point for the creation of a bank of ideas for our society," said the councillor.
