Dénia asks the Generalitat to carry out the health infrastructures not carried out by Marina Salud

May 20 from 2024 - 13: 49

The governing team of the Dénia City Council (PSPV-Compromís) will present to the ordinary plenary session this May a motion urging the Department of Health of the Generalitat Valenciana to assume the Health Infrastructure Plan that the company Marina Salud SA did not execute during the administrative concession period, giving absolute priority to these actions, which have an accumulated delay of almost 20 years.

For this reason, the Dénia City Council will ask Les Corts to make the appropriate credit modifications so that the aforementioned pending infrastructures in Dénia and Calp can be executed.

Specifically, reference is made to the construction of the Dénia and Calpe Health Centers, which 18 years after the signing of the contract, and once it was completed, the commercial concessionaire has not carried out (despite having promised to do so on countless occasions). ) nor has the Generalitat undertaken to incorporate them into the infrastructures referred to in its Investment Plan.

On March 14, 2005, a 'Public services management contract by concession' was signed between the Ministry of Health and the company Marina Salud SA, with the aim of providing comprehensive healthcare services to the Department of Health of Denia.

After the termination of this contract on January 31, 2024, the Generalitat Valenciana directly assumed the management of the department's services and infrastructure.

Despite Marina Salud SA's commitment to present and execute an investment plan that included the construction of a new hospital in the Marina Alta, the reform of the Dénia Specialty Center, and other works, none of these infrastructures have been carried out in the 18 years of validity of the contract. In addition, the Denia City Council gave up 2.500 square meters of the Miguel Hernández lot to build a health center, a necessary step that was already completed in July 2016.

According to the motion, "given the non-compliance of Marina Salud SA and the inaction of the Department of Health to address this issue, or assume responsibilities by incorporating the infrastructure referred to in its Investment Plan, the motion presented seeks urgent solutions for health needs." region of". And, as he explains: "the infrastructures that were necessary 18 years ago, and that have not been executed, continue to be, at least, equally necessary, given the demographic increase in the health area, in the increase in visits derived from the tourist activity, and the absence of any type of complementary or alternative infrastructure.

For all these reasons, the Government team of the Dénia City Council reiterates its commitment to the health and well-being of all citizens and expects a quick and effective response from the competent authorities.

Good, but in the last Legislation, when the Lefties ruled, he could also have asked for it.
