The Dénia Sports Department, headed by Valen Alcala, presented two new proposals on Wednesday aimed at promoting health and well-being in the city. Both initiatives, which start in January, seek to bring physical exercise closer to residents and promote healthier lifestyles.
The first of these proposals, called Dénia walks, consists of weekly walks around the city that can be prescribed by doctors following an agreement between the City Council and the Department of Health of Dénia, as was already the case with the Dénia en moviment project. The walks, led by specialized monitors, are divided into two groups: one for patients in risk groups and another for pregnant women. They will depart from the Joan Fuster health center twice a week and will begin on January 15.
From the beach to the neighborhoods: outdoor gymnastics
On the other hand, the initiative Esports in the neighborhood will bring sports activities to different neighbourhoods of the city. Inspired by the successful Esports a la platja programme in the summer, this proposal will offer outdoor classes two Saturdays a month at 11:00 a.m., in rotating locations.

The exercises will be free to attend, with no prior registration required, and are open to the entire population. The first meeting will be on Saturday 11 January in the Plaza Oeste, followed by other locations such as the Plaza Jaume I, Calle La Vía, Plaza del Consell, Parque Chabàs or Mariana Pineda.
I think these are very good initiatives. And in the specific case of the proposal for walks, I understand that the objective is to bring together people who share the same situation (pregnant women or people in risk groups) and I think this is positive for two reasons. Those of us who do not attend in either of these two circumstances (I am neither one nor the other) can also walk whenever we want and perhaps we do not need a monitor to make precise recommendations adapted to these realities (being pregnant or having some risk condition). On the other hand, I think this can encourage less determined people. I also think that it is more positive to show our disagreements without bitterness. Better for our health and for general harmony. Good day.
Let's see if I understand: I have the flu, fever, etc. and they give me a doctor's appointment in 15-20 days.
!!Ah!! I want to go for a walk... nothing... I have a doctor's appointment that same day or they'll take me to the Emergency Room.
Dénia City Hall...and they keep working
Since when is it necessary to be prescribed a walk, in order to go for a walk?
And with public money.
The photos and posters have turned out very nice.
I think that politicians should raise their intellectual level. This would translate into achieving relevant, not to say necessary, objectives that are not even raised in the town hall meetings. In short, as always. Lots of photos and little work.
Good proposal, but as always poorly coordinated. If it starts on January 11 (there are only 2 days left) and it is the doctor who must prescribe, well!! Cheer up!! They give me an appointment in 20 days. I and many other people will miss it. Get better organized!! Always the same bad
