Defeat of Dénia Bàsquet 3rd FEB against Novelda

January 28 from 2025 - 09: 58

Dénia Básquet SUMA BPM Lighting played a good game in their visit to CB Jorge Juan Tártaros García Castelló, but lacked the strength to challenge the home team for victory in a tough final period, which they entered with a three-point lead (51-54), on a day in which the team's rotation was conditioned by the absences with which they traveled to Novelda.

The first period was a constant exchange of baskets with both teams playing at a high pace, with Eduardo Clavero and Xavier Díaz's teams coming out on top, making three-pointers and punishing their rivals inside the zone (20-23).

The first ten minutes of the match had nothing to do with the second period. Both sides made many mistakes and had a hard time scoring points, especially failing from the free throw line, from which they missed 6 and 5 attempts respectively. However, in the final minutes, the home team was more focused and reached the break with a point advantage in their favour (31-30).

The match regained all its intensity in a competitive third period in which three-pointers kept the hosts afloat against the good play of the Dénia team, who had a five-point advantage in their favour. The high pace of play and the intensity put on the court by both contenders left no one guessing who would end up taking this very important victory.

Four three-pointers scored by Novelda marked the final period and gave them back the initiative in the match.

Dénia Bàsquet persisted without losing spirit, but the period ended up being too long for them, and the success that had accompanied them until then was no longer consistent enough to reach the end with options. The risks taken in the last moments only increased the difference, which closed with nine points in favor of the locals.

Highlighting the debut of both Miquel Server, who scored nine points in his debut with the team, and youth player Alex Micó, on leave this season in the club's Senior 1st Zone, who played his first five minutes in this demanding category, performing at an excellent level.

They now make 16 players who have been part of the team so far this year, 12 of whom have been trained entirely in the Dénia Bàsquet youth academy.

The Third FEB league is in full swing in group EB

.

Five teams are tied at the top with three defeats in thirteen games: Benidorm, Sueca, Alginet, Elche and Molina de Segura, followed by only two teams that are stalking them with five defeats each: UCAM Murcia and Ontinyent. From all of them, the two teams that will go directly to the final phase of promotion to Second FEB will emerge.

The other six teams are fighting to escape the danger zone, with each victory having enormous value and an almost immediate influence on each team's chances of avoiding the two relegation spots at stake in this group.

Jorge Juan leads this part of the classification with five victories, followed by Carolinas from Alicante with four and Real Murcia and ADESAVI from San Vicent del Raspeig, with three each.

Behind them are Dénia Bàsquet with two wins, and Lucentum Alicante with one, achieved precisely this past weekend in their visit to ADESAVI.

Clavero's team arrives at this crucial point of the season very united and with many lessons learned in this new category, but above all with their spirits intact and ready to face the important battles that are to come, with the dream of achieving permanence as a priority objective.

The next challenge will come this coming Saturday at Joan Fuster at 19,30:XNUMX p.m. with the visit of Sercomosa Molina Basket, a very serious and high-quality rival that they will try to compete with and make things as difficult as possible, with the support once again of our enormous fan base.

Played and scored: Soufyane Sadoki (17), Daniel Perez (15), Richard Garcia (10), Adrian Perez (3) and Adrian Vives (12) -starting five- Ale Micó (-), Miquel Server (9), Jordi Soler (1) and Jose Zapata (-)
