Dénia Bàsquet's Senior Women's and Men's teams have suffered defeat in their last matches

29 October 2024 - 12: 02

The Dénia Bàsquet Club senior women's team suffered a defeat in their first away game of the season, falling to Cabo Mar in Alicante with a score of 68-53.

The rivals showed great consistency throughout the match, managing to prevail when the physical resistance of the Dianenses began to weaken during the course of the match. On this occasion, the coach Juan Luis Pérez could only count on seven senior players, so he reinforced the team with three junior players, who did an excellent job.

The first quarter was very even, marked by the defensive intensity of both teams, and ended with a slight advantage for Cabo Mar (16-14). Dénia Bàsquet displayed its best game in the second quarter, standing out both in defense and in rebounding under both baskets, which allowed them to reach the break with a seven-point advantage (26-33).

However, in just three minutes of the third quarter, Cabo Mar managed to come back, significantly increasing its defensive intensity. Despite the fact that Dénia Bàsquet's success from outside kept it in the fight, the locals closed the third period with a five-point advantage (46-41).

In the last quarter, two initial three-pointers from Cabo Mar consolidated their dominance, and their pressing defense cut off any attempt by Dénia Bàsquet to make a comeback. The match ended with no chance of victory for the visitors, who will now face a week of rest to recover their injured players before the third day of the league.

The Senior Men of Dénia Bàsquet falls at home against L'Olleria (62-69)

The Dénia Bàsquet Club senior men's team was unable to recover from the defeat in its previous round, being beaten at home by L'Ollería with a final score of 62-69. Despite the attempts of Carlos Vila's players to impose a faster pace of play and make defensive adjustments, the visiting team maintained control of the match, neutralising any attempt at a comeback.

L'Ollería maintained an intense defence, frustrating any advances on the scoreboard. Although the partials remained tight, the seven-point difference achieved by the visitors at half-time proved decisive in the outcome of the match.

The team will travel to Pego this Sunday to play the fourth matchday of the league, with the match scheduled for 11:30 am at the Ausiàs March pavilion.

Conclusive triumph of the Junior Men of Dénia Bàsquet (90-39) against CB Xeraco

The Dénia Bàsquet junior men's team in the First Zone continues its winning streak, achieving its third consecutive victory by beating CB Xeraco with a clear 90-39. Rubén Velázquez's team showed great offensive success, scoring seven three-pointers with a high percentage, and demonstrated their progress in tactical aspects that allowed them to take advantage of their scoring opportunities.

The defensive intensity and the pace of play allowed the home team to leave the match practically decided at half-time (55-17). Despite the difference in the score, the team kept up its efforts and managed to correct some aspects of the game in the second half, where the visitors took advantage of the home team's mistakes to score. Once their game had stabilised, Dénia Bàsquet widened the gap, giving minutes to all the players as a reward for their weekly work.

Next Sunday, the junior team will face a difficult trip to the Pau Gasol Pavilion in Alfás del Pi, where they will face Terralfas, one of the strongest rivals in the group, in their fourth league match.
