The Civil Guard, during the service carried out on shipments to the Balearic Islands from the Port of Dénia, has seized 514,89 grams of methamphetamine from a couple, proceeding to arrest them for a crime against public health for drug trafficking. The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction No. 1 of Dénia.
During a fiscal verification point during the shipment to the Balearic Islands from the Pansa Pier in the Port of Dénia, the patrol of the Fiscal and Border Detachment of the Civil Guard of Calp spotted a vehicle that raised their suspicions.
The vehicle was occupied by two people, a man and a woman, a couple aged 27 and 35 respectively. The couple was accompanied by a small breed dog in a cloth carrier, and when the agents approached the vehicle, the woman clung to the carrier and got out of the vehicle.
Given the situation, the agents began searching the vehicle and the occupants' belongings, asking the woman to take the animal out of the fabric compartment to search it. At the time of registration of the
carrier, the agent detected certain anomalies, removing a towel from inside and discovering a black package that served as the base of the carrier.
The package was wrapped with opaque black plastic, vacuum sealed, and a magnetic adhesive on one of the surfaces. When opening the package, the agents discovered another transparent one, also sealed in a vacuum, but where pink powder was visible inside. Upon discovering the contents of the package, the woman reported that the powder was 'tusi', or also known as pink cocaine. For this reason, the agents proceeded to open the package and extract a sample to perform a test, obtaining methamphetamines as a result.
Once the test was carried out, positive for methamphetamine, and after measuring the amount of drug found, yielding a total weight of 514,89 grams, the agents proceeded to arrest the couple.
The detainees, who are charged with a crime against public health for drug trafficking, have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction No. 1 of Dénia, who decreed their release with the imposition of precautionary measures.
