The solidarity Christmas tree of the Mercat Municipal focuses on the work of the Marina Alta Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Association

10 December 2020 - 10: 49

The Department of Markets, the Municipal Market and the Dianense company Garmol have collaborated again to organize for the fifth consecutive year the installation of a solidarity tree of Christmas in the Dénia market. The activity, called Capacities on Wheels, combines the solidarity aspect with the aim of promoting purchases in the municipal market. Every year, the shopping carts that decorate the big tree are personalized with the logo of a non-profit social entity from Dénia and the region with the aim of disseminating its activity and contributing to give it visibility. This year, the solidarity tree is dedicated to the Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Association Marina Alta (ADAHMA).

The Mercat Municipal Christmas tree is decorated with part of the 25 shopping carts donated by Garmol and personalized with the association's logo. The cars will be raffled after the Christmas holidays among the market clientele who have made purchases for an amount greater than 10 euros. Buyers must deposit the purchase ticket in the ballot boxes placed next to the tree, without forgetting to write their personal information and a contact telephone number where they can be located if they are awarded in the raffle. In addition, this year, one of the cars that will be raffled will contain products from the Mercat Municipal.

In addition to donating the cars that adorn the tree, Garmol will give ADAHMA another ten shopping carts to raise funds with their sale or raffle.

The representatives of the Dianense company have stated that "especially in this difficult year for everyone, we must be present to support the associations, which already carry out a great social work, and thus be able to facilitate their work a little".

For her part, the Councilor for Markets, Sandra Gertrudix, has thanked Garmol for "his firm social commitment and the collaboration that he has maintained with this department for five years." Gertrudix hopes that the initiative will have a positive impact on the "great work carried out by the ADAHMA association" and invites all the residents of Dénia to make their purchases in the city market, "for the quality of the products that are they offer and for the close, personalized and professional treatment of their vendors".

ADAHMA

ADAHMA is a non-profit organization that was born from the initiative of a group of fathers and mothers from the Marina Alta with sons and daughters with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The association is established with the aim of helping all people who suffer from this disorder to develop their capacities so that they can integrate into today's society, acquiring the necessary skills that allow them to enjoy an autonomous and quality life. Its headquarters are located in the municipal building on Calle Campotorres, 13, known as Seu d'Associacions.

Currently, apart from individualized therapies with each child, the association also conducts review workshops and academic help and is organizing a video game workshop for Christmas.

In addition, during this month of December they will carry out the last of a series of training workshops related to labor insertion and financed by the Generalitat Valenciana and the European Union. The first two were held online during the month of November and addressed the themes of preferences and abilities to seek employment and social media and personal branding to find employment. The December workshop will be face-to-face and will teach basic office automation to look for a job (December 11).
