The Dénia City Council has launched a project aimed at promoting youth mobility and cultural exchange between young people from Europe, which will include a series of international meetings. This initiative will allow young people from Dénia to visit other European countries and welcome young people from other partner nations to the municipality, thus facilitating mutual knowledge and personal and professional growth in a multicultural environment.
One of the key moments of the project will be the Meeting of Youth Correspondents of the Marina Alta and Baixa, which will be held in Dénia and will bring together young people who collaborate with the Youth Departments of their municipalities, acting as a link with local youth to disseminate all the information and resources available. Young Europeans will also participate in this meeting, thus promoting a unique exchange experience.
In parallel, other partner countries will host similar meetings, in which young people from Dénia will travel and interact with local youth.
As a final product of the project, the young participants will create a documentary video that will disseminate the shared experiences and serve to promote European youth mobility programmes in the long term.
The €4.000 grant awarded by the Alicante Provincial Council last August was essential to carry out this initiative; the Dénia City Council will use this aid to hire specialised consultancy to present the project to the Erasmus+ call and obtain the necessary funds for its implementation.
"With this support, the City Council is committed to bringing more European opportunities to the young people of Dénia and to making this enriching cultural and educational exchange a reality," he said. Valen Alcala, Youth Councilor.
