The Reading Club of the UNED Dénia had a full house

May 23 from 2022 - 12: 46

The Reading Club began at UNED Dénia with a great reception, with an absolute full number of participants. The club has 30 participants where in its first session held on Friday, May 13, 'Mrs. Dalloway' by Virginia Woolf, a book that was published in 1925, was analyzed.

The feminist author of the book is considered "one of the most revolutionary and essential authors of the XNUMXth century." Clarissa Dalloway had already appeared as a character in several titles, therefore, she is a recurring character in her work and in this novel she has autobiographical touches: headaches, she is the same age as the author when she writes the novel or the relationship with the husbands is very similar.

Following Clarissa Dalloway's adventure, the day she throws a party, is an absolute joy from the front lines. And this was demonstrated in the first meeting of the Reading Club in Dénia, where 20 participants exchanged their ideas, opinions and thoughts about this book that they previously had a couple of months to enjoy.
of your reading.

The gathering was led by Jaume Tortosa, a secondary school professor and philology teacher, who moderated the Reading Club table for an hour and a half, which took place in a participatory, pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.

After the session, the person in charge of the UNED Dénia library, Samantha Agulles, commented that at the end the participants left the Reading Club satisfied and happy, especially because the UNED Dénia develops this type of activities and initiatives where a book unites the passionate about reading providing different
points of analysis, the plot, values, the author's idea, the meaning of the text or his vocabulary among the many forms of personal analysis that each one makes of his reading.

The UNED Dénia Reading Club already has the next book on the table to enjoy: 'Lo que Esconde Tu Nombre', Clara Sánchez's 2010 Nadal Award, a story where Dénia and the UNED are present, since her character, Sandra, has decided to retire to a town on the Levantine coast: he has left his job and…, but let's not spoil it and enjoy it at the next meeting, which will be in September at UNED Dénia.
