The Marina El Portet de Dénia Sailing Club is fourth in the 200 miles A2 of Altea

12 March 2021 - 10: 41

It has been a hiatus of about four months due to the health emergency, but at last the Marina El Portet de Dénia Sailing Club has been able to go to sea to compete. On Friday, March 5, the 35th edition of the 200-mile a2 Winter Regatta took place in Altea, a test that this year is once again part of the Spanish Championship of Cruises a2.

The Kim boat from Marina el Portet was fourth in front of 37 participants. A position that has been very satisfactory for the team led by Chiqui González and Yann Lythgoe, since they had not been able to compete for too long.

The first day the fleet sailed eastward with good wind pressure and was led by a very concentrated group of 16 boats, between 4 and 7 knots of speed. In the north of Ibiza, during the night, the ships encountered a disturbance that caused the fleet to rejoin.

On Saturday, the good wind enabled the crossing from Formentera to Altea to be much faster, with the Hydra boat (CN Bales) being the first to cross the finish line, with a time of 31 h. fifteen'.

On Sunday, March 7, the trophies were awarded to the top six finishers, the winner in real time, the first mixed boat (Slick) and the Clubs Trophy (CN Altea).
