Once signed by the General Director of Educational Infrastructures, Víctor García, by the General Director of Teaching Centers, José Joaquín Carrión, and by the General Director of Vocational Training and Special Regime Education, Manuel Gomicia, in the next phase the City Council must put out to tender the construction of the new building located on the plot where until now the Raquel Payá Special Education College has been located. This construction will have 39 classrooms, a 400 m² auditorium, 8 study booths, a multimedia laboratory and a library, among others.

On November 11, 1983, the Regional School of Music, Singing and Dance began to function. Little by little it was derived in the integration as a Conservatory in the network of public centers of the Generalitat in March 1991. The expansion to the intermediate level and the expansion to the main instrumental specialties was reached in June 1995 and finally the singing specialty arrived. which gives the importance of the name it takes, the Professional Conservatory of Music Tenor Cortis, in the 19-20 academic year.

It is now the region's reference conservatory, where many professionals have been trained, boosting musical activity and much more. It is not understood anymore Marina Alta without this conservatory. But the constructive needs have been a historically perpetuated lack: first in the Municipal House of Culture, then in the Casa de la Marquesa and lately in the building at 11 Temple de Sant Telm street, where students and teachers make an effort and work so that the students suffer as little as possible from the deficiencies of a building that is left to them. small, unsuitable and obsolete.

From the Conservatory they wanted to add: «We appreciate all the effort to the institutions: Generalitat Valenciana and Dénia City Council, for carrying out this project. Within the score we have not only advanced a few bars further, but, as in a sonata, we have changed movement. Things seem to be progressing. Now we don't want any more pilot whales, a musical sign of waiting that we have had over our heads for many decades. We want this score to be solidly built, that everything is well tuned and that, sooner rather than later, this movement ends and we move on to the next one, a Presto that leads us to the end desired by the entire educational community: to see the building standing and adequate to properly serve so many people eager to learn music. We all deserve it."
