The PP presents a motion to clarify the City Council's spending on advertising and communication

12 March 2021 - 10: 28

The municipal group of Party of Dénia, led by María Mut, has presented this week up to three motions to be debated and voted on in the next ordinary plenary session that will take place, as every month, on the last Thursday of March.

Among these proposals, the demand for information on publicity and communication contracts of the City Council stands out, as well as a proposal to promote the transparency of the council by adding a section on the web so that citizens can follow up on the motions presented.

"The rules of transparency, participation and good governance must be the preferred objectives of their actions by Administrations such as the City Council", the popular ones point out in their motion, to which they add that "In this context, advertising and information are two fundamental tools for bringing the action of administrations closer to the public and for the dissemination of events or facts that are relevant in Dénia".

The party considers that communication mechanisms and adaptability to different platforms are essential to guarantee reception and knowledge, by citizens, of management and administrative action.

Considering that impact, in economic terms, that institutional communication has on annual budgets, "and for the sake of transparency", María Mut's party considers that regular information should be provided to citizens. Therefore, they ask the City Council to publish every six months all the data referring to investment in advertising and institutional communication of its own and of its dependent entities, to disseminate on the Transparency Portal the annual planning of its advertising and institutional communication strategy, and to prepare an annual report with the results of the investments made in this area, which can also be consulted through the Transparency Portal.
