The spokesperson of the Popular Group in the City Council of Dénia, María Mut, has presented a motion, which will be raised to the Plenary of the City Council, in which it requests that the Dianense locality opt to obtain the distinction of City of Science and Innovation.
From the PP They ask that the City Council present the appropriate procedures and assessments for the candidacy of the city of Dénia before the Ministry of Science and Innovation, within the established deadlines for this distinction to be granted (maximum period until December 2).
As the popular writing indicates, "this distinction is granted to those cities that have distinguished themselves in supporting innovation in their territories, defining policies, promoting local structures, institutions and companies with a strong scientific, technological and innovative component.
The Ministry of Science and Innovation has announced that it is working on improving this appeal with concrete measures. In this sense, it has approved a pilot project that will be managed by the General Secretariat for Innovation, endowed with 10 million euros between 2021 and 2022, to facilitate the incorporation of innovation agents in distinguished municipalities.
The cities distinguished with this award are part of the Network of "Cities of Science and Innovation" and the INNPULSO Network Association (ARINN). The Network is a forum for meeting and defining innovative local policies where experiences and projects are shared.
The Popular have stated that they consider "extremely valuable" for the city of Dénia, to be part of the group of cities distinguished with this recognition, as are cities such as Alfaz del Pi, Benidorm, Gata de Gorgos, Alcoy, etc.
Are they going to welcome all the scientists who have to look for work outside of Spain because they can't find work here? Or are they talking about another kind of science and innovation for family and friends?
