The PSPV advocates to continue betting on the cultural transformation of Dénia and strengthen it as a City of Thought

May 19 from 2023 - 13: 49

El PSPV de Dénia is clear: one of its main objectives for the next legislature will be the transformation of Dénia at a cultural level. A job that they claim to have already started and successfully, and that the Socialists do not have experience in front of the area (historically it has been a concession that they have had to assume to reach post-electoral pacts). However, during these four years (which for culture have really been three) numerous projects have been carried out to bring the history of Dénia closer, the creation of a digital database of the Municipal Archive has begun, the Agency for Rafael Chirbes reading at the House of Culture, where the Espai Castejón has also been created. Speaking of libraries, the socialists puff out their chests when they remember the extensive programming of cultural activities that have been carried out in the Municipal Library, and remember that Dénia is now part of the Cervantes Network of Cities and, of course, the importance of being a host of the Festival of the Humanities.

There are many projects that the socialists have listed in a press conference in which the current Councilor for Culture, Raúl García de la Reina, and Vicent Grimalt They have talked about their project for the city for the next few years. They have first reviewed the huge number of events, actions and festivals that have taken place in Dénia. But yes, the Humanitats Festival arouses in them special pride, with which Dénia has become the capital of thought and the focus of many universities that have knocked on the doors of the consistory to collaborate with it. The very positive evaluation by the centers encourages them to continue creating this City of Thought which, in the words of Grimalt, "has marked a before and after".

For the future of this educated and philosophical Dénia it will be very important that the project of the university city sees the light, since the Torrecremada estate will host events throughout the year, by then "between classes".

Over the last four years, García de la Reina has stressed that "dialogue and regional vision has been the signature of the council." And during the pandemic. Hence those “four years that have been three”, since during the pandemic culture was the most limited area. However, the PSPV assures that its work was up to the task, with extensive alternative programming adapted to sanitary measures and highly appreciated by artists and cultural workers. "We were one of the few sites that we bet on continuing," says Grimalt.

There is work left for the future, but they assure that they will face it to condition and redistribute the city's museum offer, inaugurate the promised Museu Fester, and obtain ownership of the old slaughterhouse building so that it joins the premises that have been recovered for cultural purposes. .

"City of Thought"...neither city nor thought. All they think about is inventing more "events" to embezzle public money.

What Dani says, something about nuclear weapons, but since he doesn't have it, he threatens with stink bombs.

Do they pay for their stay and allowances with public money? Is that why they sign up to come?
