The PSPV responds to the statement from the workers of the residence: "Once again they spread false data to create alarm"

February 10 from 2022 - 11: 57

Once again, part of the nursing team at the Santa Llúcia Residence spreads biased and erroneous information about the operation of the center.

Its objectives, which may be legitimate, cannot, however, be based on false data and a constant strategy of creating alarm among the population; a particularly despicable strategy due to the sensitive nature of the place where they work, a residence for the elderly, and the delicate moment in which we still find ourselves, overcoming a pandemic.

That said, from the government team, as always and with the utmost transparency, we are going to list all the steps followed in the HIRING OF PERSONNEL (replacement and reinforcement) since the current omicron outbreak began in the residence, on 31 January:

1. Since the beginning of the outbreak, of the 87 people who make up the workforce, on the same day 31, 3 workers caused leave and since that date, 8 more leaves have been processed. It is not about casualties all coinciding in time: that is to say, that some happen to the reincorporation of workers already registered.

2. Among the health personnel, the total casualties have been 9: 7 auxiliaries and 2 nurses, all replaced, except one auxiliary, in an average of 2 to 3 days depending on the casualties were processed.

4. Yesterday, the Local Government Board approved 7 new hires for the center: 3 kitchen assistants (one of them to replace a worker on leave and 2 as backup); 2 nurses (one substitution due to sick leave and another reinforcement); 1 nursing assistant (substitution due to sick leave); and a receptionist (replacement due to sick leave).

5. The last to be replaced have been the sick leave workers from general services, since priority has been given to health workers.

6. Regarding the overtime and double shifts performed by the staff, they have indeed been done and paid for, and the procedure has been agreed with the nursing coordination: overtime is done in the afternoon and at night and to guarantee that they always have a veteran nurse at the front of the service who assists the substitutes and knows the residents well.

Finally, note that the percentage of casualties has been similar to the first and second outbreaks. Likewise, the rate of absenteeism in the Dénia residence is similar to the percentage of the sector, due to the rapid contagion of the omicron variant.

The relatives of the residents of Santa Llúcia are up to date on the situation in the centre, on the evolution of the current outbreak (which currently affects 29 people, without any case being serious) and on the details of its management.
