These are the new streets with a blue zone to park in the center of Dénia

28 July 2022 - 13: 59

Next August, the center of Dénia will incorporate three more roads with a blue parking area. The City Council will begin to implement them from Monday, August 1, providing a solution to a measure demanded by merchants and residents of the city.

Said measure "was approved in 2018, during the last legislature, and was included again in the tender for the blue zone carried out in 2020-2021", indicated the Councilor for Citizen Security, Javier Scotto. "As of this August is when we are going to implement it after four years of moratorium," he added.

The streets with a new blue zone in Dénia

  • Calderon Street.
  • Colón Street, between Cándida Carbonell and Diana.
  • Section of Cándida Carbonell between Marqués de Campo and Colón streets.

Specifically, on Calle Calderón, the measure was highly demanded among residents who asked for a solution to make parking more dynamic and put an end to the usual practice of long-term parking in the area.

Scotto has highlighted that the establishment of a blue zone in these streets "seeks to combine business hours with the parking needs of residents". In addition, the councilor points out that the aim is to "benefit the largest possible number of people and combine diverse interests." In addition, he adds, in Dénia "the lowest fraction of the entire province of Alicante, one euro cent per minute" is applied.

The truth is that I have been coming to Denia for many years and Av Miguel Hernández is not spoken of, it is taboo by the council, it is a national road through the middle of the town full of traffic jams, without any speed limit or brakes for cars and motorcycles roundabouts impossible without police control with a noise level much higher than normal, which affects health and causes hearing diseases, without traffic lights or anything that prevents cars from heading from Plaza Benidorm until after Mercadona where there is a traffic light that brings them, I think that with good traffic planning and with some changes of direction of some streets, so much traffic on this road would be solved, everything is diverted to the Miguel Hernández national road. That when the ferry leaves early in the morning and arrivals at noon and departures in the evening no one lives here. The truth, Mr. Councilor for Traffic, take a walk and check what I'm telling you…..check the motorcycles, the cars, the exhaust pipes, because this looks like the Jerez circuit. Thank you very much

For electric cars, is there a discount?

    • Mamalu Otero says:

Joan Fuster street is unbearable with the noise of motorcycles, cars, trucks, and at the end of the year the train. Before at night you could sleep now you can't even rest at night, they have diverted traffic to this avenue causing great harm to residents. The blue zone is to raise money, but how are they going to solve the noise problems caused by traffic in the city?

  5. javi says:

I thought that the blue zones were to raise more money, but blue zones could be created for free with time limits, fines and cranes for offenders, the other parkers would be free and a service for the people YES YOU CAN
