The Councilor for Development of the Montgó sewage system and the Routes, mario vidal, has appeared in public at the House of Culture to report on possible alternatives to implement individual connections, eliminating, in turn, septic tanks and promoting connections to the existing sewerage collectors that circulate through Centaure, Efaistos and other adjacent streets. .
Next to him were the municipal secretary of Gent of Dénia, Juan Pons, and the engineer and coordinator of the projects on behalf of Aqualia, Arturo Berenguer, who stressed the "urgency of complying with European directives".
As stated by the Montgó Sewer Technical Office, they have been working on the drafting of various projects, obtaining data, economic conditions, technical conditions, field visits, meetings with neighbors, among others, to face the numerous inconveniences encountered so far. . "We are going through a difficult period because the pandemic has delayed the process," they explained.
The health situation has paralyzed all the procedures and, at the same time, has delayed the start of the works, although there are already many residents of the O collector who have been able to connect to the network.
"The priority at this time is to activate the connection to the network of those neighbors whose façade falls to the collectors made by the CHJ", they have assured at the meeting where, in addition, they stressed that each neighbor has received or will receive, according to the order planned, an Execution Order to connect and thus annul its septic tank within three months.
Apparently, a few years ago requests were sent for neighbors to connect, but few people did. It is for this reason that it has been preferred to act by Order of Execution. This is how, through this route, the aim is to improve conditions in order to connect the largest number of households.
Likewise, they have warned that anyone individually can carry out the process, that yes, it is necessary to adhere to the foreseeable technical regulations, through the supervision of Aqualia and the City Council, to give guarantees of the project costs as well as to allocate them to that its maintenance is public.
“We have worked hard to improve conditions. According to all legal reports, private projects are carried out separately, and the City Council cannot tender, ”they explained at the hearing. However, they also refer to the possibility that it is Aqualia, through subcontracts with companies of the Association of Small Builders of Dénia, which is in charge of managing the connections by groups of neighbors. In this way, the owner can be exempted from the urbanization guarantee.
In addition, the city council promises that it will immediately lay asphalt for the entire street without affecting the neighbors, prepare pipes at intersections and establish secondary branches on adjacent streets.
From the Montgó Sewer Delegation they once again emphasize the urgency of implementing this model and thus comply as soon as possible with the directives that have been imposed from the European Union.
