The spokesperson for Gent of Dénia in the city Hall, mario vidal, has presented a motion to be debated in the next plenary session in March in order to name the streets of the industrial zone of the municipality paying homage to the great references of the toy-making era of the town.
The local party has presented a motion in which they seek to end the lack of a "clear identification" from the street map of the Madrigueres Sud industrial zone. And not only that, but they propose to take advantage of this to name the streets of manufacturers, companies or brands of the Dénia toy industry from the beginning of the XNUMXth century.
It must be remembered that the current polygon, initially called Juyarco by its promoters, was for many years related to the toy industry of our city, which after many years of being within the urban area, in which wonderful toys of metal, later wood and, finally, some manufacturers were reinventing their products while tourism, plastic, cheaper offshoring manufacturing, as well as many other factors, practically wiped out the local toy industry. "Thus we have the moral obligation to remember those pioneers who generated such an important business fabric for the city, not only with the current Toy Museum, but, in addition, giving the names of manufacturers in the streets of the industrial zone and that today they do not have any ", they point out from Gent de Dénia.
