Gent de Dénia proposes the creation of residences only for rich and foreigners

May 11 from 2023 - 10: 31

While Dénia awaits the creation of a second public residence to meet the high demand of users, private projects begin to appear in the city. In many towns in the Marina Alta There are private nursing homes. In fact, the one in Dénia is a rara avis, because in the region there are almost no public management centers (despite the fact that others contemplate a percentage of public places).

Now, with the electoral campaign just around the corner, most parties include in their program the promotion of the creation of spaces for the elderly to reside. With centers with management models of all kinds: public, mixed... even totally private now with the proposal of Gent of Dénia.

The formation of mario vidal presented its Social Welfare program on Wednesday night, with several projects among which one stands out: to facilitate the implementation of private retirement homes. According to the formation, "it is necessary to promote the creation of totally private residences for people with purchasing power and foreigners who decide to stay in this country," because today's society has a greater life expectancy.

This controversial proposal clashes squarely with the model that was demanded in the city due to the prevailing need for public squares for the residents of Dénia, regardless of their purchasing power. Even the mixed models contemplate a percentage of reserved places to be managed by the Ministry. However, the model that Gent de Dénia defends, the totally private one, does not contemplate this option and it is only the purchasing power that dictates if you can access a place.

As soon as you leave Dénia, you can see the large number of options that older people with bigger pockets have, with exclusive centers that are already dedicated to foreigners and privileged users, such as Beniarbeig or Benimeli. On the other hand, there is a great demand for public places that is not being covered. In a private center, the only option a person has is to pay the fee, perhaps with a little help from the Ministry that does not even cover half of its cost.

That is to say, promoting only the creation of private centers creates inequality since people with high purchasing power have endless possibilities to access a residence, and not so many people with few resources. In a private center the only option is to have money. On the other hand, Dénia has been asking for the creation of more public squares for years, with the creation of a new public residence or mixed models, which residents can opt for due to their state of health, regardless of purchasing power.

This is the result of a subsidized and manipulated press by large parties, at the moment it has been said that the private residence remains incompatible with the public one, if not memory fails, the people of Denia have always been in favor of a new residence which is approved!

  2. Clara says:

A party that has been in charge of the Government managing the public residence and asking for and supporting the proposals for the second residence. Now that it's approved, why not support any project for a private residence that is fully compatible, such as a public hospital with a private one.
You want to make malicious press.

  3. Omniway says:

Clearly this post is loaded with bad sense and bad intention.
The fact that GENT of Denia proposes to facilitate private initiative investments in the case of building private paying residences, does not imply that they do not defend the installation of more public residences for all citizens who are so needed.
Facing these two issues, totally different, is like calling the socialist party HETERODOBO for wanting to promote LGTBY tourism.
Please, do not do so much demagoguery or be so incautious when commenting on news published with such bad intentions.
But of course, if they want they can continue doing it.
    😞

Good morning . I do not know the political tendency of GENT DE DENIA, nor am I interested, given that I am neither a builder nor a hotelier.

I would understand this proclamation or idea in favor of all the inhabitants of Denia, with priority given to those most in need and lacking in resources or insufficient precarious resources to be cared for with dignity.

This proposal has a totally commercial and promotional tint for an exclusive clientele. FOR THAT, IT SHOULD NOT BE NEEDED TO BE IN POLITICS, and in that case, PROHIBIT IT.

On the other hand; Let's say this idea can offend the intelligence of the people for whom it is intended, as if this model of our peers were stupid and did not know what to do with their money to get a
    appetizing old age.
Anything else, gentlemen of GENT DE DENIA?

  5. Demetrio says:

And why not? It's a business like any other, where you see the racist or discriminatory bias. What foreigners remain in the Marina Alta after the summer season?: Retired. And it is not a proposal from Gent de Dénia, it is a demand from these European retirees who prefer to retire in company than to die alone at home. From a turn that you give, you will observe that there are already urbanizations of apartments for foreign residents and retirees only and alone.
Everything is better for free than it is surely the invention of someone who in his life has managed the patrimony earned with his sweat.

  6. Enrique says:

This news can be qualified in any way but impartial. There is a whiff of the communist left in her and her tireless habit of criticizing the part of the population that will never vote for them and disqualifying them with the term rich. What the leftist administration has to do is build public centers and leave the rest alone. They have been governing for years and the current situation is their responsibility and the paradox is that when the elections arrive they return to vindicate their own breaches. Anyway, journalists stop doing politics or get involved in politics and leave journalism.

  7. Protection says:

If this party believes that this proposal is fair and in accordance with what is vital, such as the creation of more places accessible to people with limited monetary resources, they should be called "GENT DELS RICACHOS" Not what they are called. Shamelessness!!

  8. Martha says:

Eine Schande was da in den Raum gestellt wird
Wer so eine Behauptung über Ausländer in die Welt setzt ist diskriminierend
Ausländer werden also als ALLE Reiche eingestuft ?
    schande total daneben

    • Luis says:

Not all of them, only Germans, Swiss, Dutch, English…they are considered rich. Why do you think they are allowed to live here in their ghettos without integrating into Spanish society, nor speaking or understanding Spanish? For foreigners who come from South America, Morocco, Algeria, Romania, etc., life is very different. Don't tell me you haven't noticed? That happens for not leaving the "Ghetto Guiri". Do you know the word Guiri?

  9. Ignacio says:

Sad, discriminatory and exclusive, only for foreigners with money, and the proposal comes from Gent de Denia? Is this how they take care of their "People"? They would have to change the name of the party… Without words…

    • Marina says:

Headline taken out of context, what do you want with news like this? Has anyone read the electoral program of Gent de Denia?
