"Thank you Dénia, thank you team: together we add up"

OPINION Susana Mut, candidate for citizens Dénia

Dénia is my land. Here I have been able to develop as a person and this is where I want to help others to develop and grow by contributing my bit to do so. That is why I decided to be a teacher and to do so in Dénia.

For years I have understood local government as something far from me. I have always exercised my right to vote, but I had never decided to go one step further. Throughout the legislatures I have felt frustrated about the usefulness of my vote and I have even come to doubt whether or not to use it. I have always denied bipartisanship and power controlled only by a few. Sometimes the behavior of the political class leaves me with a rancid, disappointing aftertaste.

This is why when Ciudadanos appeared on the political scene, I understood that politics cannot be a matter of a few who do and undo as they please. Politics affects all aspects of our lives: it sets the taxes we pay, regulates the education our sons and daughters receive, decides what language we have to speak, and lays the foundations for every aspect of our lives.

Being aware of this was a jolt for me that made me wake up and think that we cannot give up our individual power and leave our lives in the hands of a few.

It may be that for some the elections are simple municipal elections, but in reality it is from the municipalities, from the close and the daily where we can change things. There is something you cannot forget: YOUR VOTE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT.

From Ciudadanos Dénia we have developed a proximity campaign, trying to be in as many neighborhoods as possible and until the last minute. Seeking contact with the neighbors and their concerns. We have made 43 information tents during this time and we have also recovered events such as "La Carrera de Camareros", the "Meeting of the traditional toy" and the "Ruta de las cocas de barrio", all of them have allowed us to strengthen the bond with the citizens from Denia. A collective effort that would not have been possible without the commitment of all our affiliates and supporters.

I am a teacher, I am a mother and I am a citizen. I have the illusion and the firm conviction that if I want to leave a better world for my daughter, for my students and for my people, I have to fight for it. Here I am and I will be as long as the forces hold and you consider it.

This fight is not carried out alone. Only with mutual support can we achieve true transformation. As Ryanosuke Satoro said: "Individually we are a drop, together we are an ocean."

In Ciudadanos Dénia we do not fight alone. We team up and look for solutions and alternatives that add up to offer improvements and be able to be part of that ocean that allows us an easier, lasting and sustainable life.

Because we believe that another way of governing is possible.

For you, for yours, for Dénia.

To your political group, you have failed to remember Las Marinas. Here we permanently reside citizens of other parts of Spain, but you forget us or as I always say YOU ABANDON US
