The specimen was taken to the University of Valencia and examined. The autopsy revealed that death was caused by three stab wounds to the brain by a swordfish.
"This is not an isolated incident," the statement said, and the entity recalled that there have already been "several cases of blue sharks with injuries caused by swordfish, which has led the scientific community to continue investigating these cases," they concluded.
