The RCNDénia hosted the Spanish Cup and the 3rd round of the Regional Sea Kayak Championship

This past weekend, and despite the weather that was not accompanied on Saturday, the Spanish Sea Kayak Cup was held in the waters of the Bay of Dénia, with 286 boats from 40 Spanish clubs.

Strictly complying with current sanitary regulations, an area was defined for paddlers who, during the competition days, passed the temperature control, hand washing and identification using wristbands to access the venue.

Jaime Portolés, president of the Real Club Náutico, commented that for him this call was doubly important "because, at the club, the last call was held before all competitions were canceled due to the pandemic, and the regatta that has just been carried out is the first that it is being held, hopefully in the last blows of the pandemic. A regatta in which the enthusiasm and joy of returning to the competition has spread to all attendees. "

On Saturday, the weather prevented the downwindTherefore, the alternative route was decided, which consisted of two tests, in a round-trip beacon circuit with an unmarking 400 m from the start. This never diminished the morale of the paddlers who achieved very good results.

Classification

In the SS1 category, Toni Gil, junior k1, obtained 2nd position in the Junior Spanish Cup and 2nd position in the regional test. On the other hand, Maik Dimitrov, k1 1st position in the regional test and 6th position in the Spanish Cup.

In the SS2 category, Maik Dimitrov and Toni Gil, obtained a magnificent 1st position in the regional test and 2nd position in the Spanish Cup.

In the SS1 category, Gonzalo Monfort, k1 cadet, 8th position in the Spanish Cup and 2nd classified in the regional test, Pablo Orgiler, 3rd traditional senior position in the Spanish Cup and 3rd position in traditional senior in the regional test. Paulino Llobell, 8th position in the Spanish Cup and 4th position in the regional test; Cesar Bordehore, 14th position in the Spanish Cup and 7th position in the regional test.

In the SS2 category, Gonzalo Monfort and Hugo Herrera, 7th position in the Spanish Cup and 3rd position in the regional test. Niki Radoslavov and Noe Blanchard, 6th position in the Spanish Cup and 5th in the regional test. Miguel Abarca and Jerónimo Costa were 7th in the Spanish Cup and 5th in the regional test; Alejandro Gornemann and Luis Carretero, 4th position in the Spanish Cup and 4th position in the regional test; Javier Orgiler and Oliver Schope, 4th position in the Spanish Cup and 1st position in the regional test.

The gold medal in this Cup of Spain in the men's K1 modality went to the Asturian Walter Bouzán who shared the podium with Esteban Medina and Víctor Rodríguez from the Canary Islands second and third, respectively. In female K1, the Canarian Judit Vergés won ahead of Aurora Figueras (Banyoles) and Amaia Osaba (Canoeing Pamplona).

It should be noted that, in the club classification of the Spanish Cup, RCNDénia has obtained, a more than deserved, 6th position among the 40 registered clubs.
