Dénia City Council is carrying out a series of improvements to its sports facilities to make them more accessible.
At Field Diego Mena, the most affected areas of the stands are being removed and rebuilt. In addition, four bicycle racks have been installed in the sports centre to encourage the use of bicycles as a means of transport to these facilities.
At trinquet The Rovellet, all the interior lighting has been renovated with a more efficient LED system, the interior areas of the building have been painted and the classrooms, such as the theory classroom and the tai chi classroom, are being renovated. The numbering of the trinquet frontons is also being carried out.
On the other hand, the sports centre's blue track is undergoing repairs to the pavement and the wall facing the street is being rebuilt. Cleaning and painting work is also being carried out, both inside and outside the facilities.
The Councillor for Sports and Youth, Valen Alcala, has highlighted that one of the most complex actions is the renovation of the old fronton, which was in significant deterioration and is now being cleaned up and painted. In addition, three new tennis courts have been painted. one wall, a Valencian pilota modality that is booming internationally, which can be played in Dénia for the first time.
"We are also installing another element that will give more personality to our sports facilities," said Alcalà, who insisted that, although there is still much to do, the City Council is committed to continuing to work to improve the city's sports infrastructure.
Construction work again? How often is our money wasted? And what about Rugby, which after some “improvement works” was left with a pitch that does not meet international standards? Do we have to thank someone?
Is One Wall a Valencian “pilota”?
