The garbage rate in Dénia will increase by 20% per home in 2025: this is how much each area will pay

17 October 2024 - 13: 49

This Thursday, Paco Roselló, Councillor for Finance, and Sandra Gertrúdix, Councillor for the Environment, have announced at a press conference the increase in the rubbish tax of around 20% per dwelling in Dénia.

This increase is due to the implementation of European Union regulations, through Law 7/2022, of April 8, on waste and contaminated soil for a circular economy. This gave municipalities a period of three years to update the rate. Sandra Gertrúdix explained that, since the Dénia City Council updated it in 2022, the increase is lower than in other towns that have to do so this year.

However, not all residents of the town will pay the same. As Roselló has explained, the City Council has divided the municipality into 10 zones and each one will pay an amount according to the average cadastral value of its properties (dividing the rate into a fixed fee of 110 euros and another variable as mentioned above). Below are the amounts by zone:

Currently, homes pay - regardless of the area where they are located - 140 euros per year. The areas that will have to pay more with the new measure will be Monte Pego (191,64 euros) and the Montgó area (174,54 euros). The areas that will have to pay a lower amount are the scattered areas (154,93 euros) and the urban centre (162,51 euros).

The councillor also announced that the activity tax will now rise by 19,51%. She also announced a new feature: large families will receive a 40%, 50% or 60% discount on the new tax, depending on the cadastral value of their homes.

Gertrúdix added that the 50% bonus for retirees will be maintained and that municipal aid for housing expenses will increase in 2025, from 130 euros to 150 euros.

It is an unnecessary increase… I think the increase is outrageous,
(175€) taking into account that the neighbors of the
We bring rubbish down to Montgó by car and during the high season, the containers that are there do not arrive. In summer, for example, they do not arrive and the “uncivilized” people are not capable of looking for another empty container closer, but leave everything thrown on the ground. An act of pure laziness that is repeated every year. With all the money raised, the city council could fine those residents who throw rubbish outside the containers and who misuse it. How? With surveillance cameras… and serious fines on the spot. This would be a solution to the problem. I insist, this problem also affects the environment and gives a disastrous image to the beloved Tourism of the city.

Enough already!!!! These thieving socialists are ordering us around like we were cows.
While they line their pockets for life with a couple of legislatures.

Hello. I am a resident with a second home in Denia. I live in Ciudad Real and here we pay 82 euros for the garbage collection fee. I think the garbage collection tax in Denia is tremendous. It is outrageous.

    Thieves! And a shitty service!

That's what progressivism is like: more and more taxes and fewer services.
      Let's continue being progressive.
      Long live progress!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. jm says:

The new garbage collection system is very noisy. Why don't they collect the garbage after 7 in the morning?

    • akilino says:

You are absolutely right, they take us up but they don't let those who get up early to rest without noise.
to be able to perform the next day and be able to face daily expenses

  6. ANNA says:

Directly, we do NOT have containers around Xara, and let's not even talk about whether you want to recycle... Shameful.

  7. Unsubmissive says:

Come on, another tax increase due to poor management by those in power. When will there be a tax on breathing? There is also great potential there!!

  8. Eva says:

I would like to know why the tax is so high in areas far from the city centre, where residents often have to drive to the dumpsters and use their own petrol.
