The UNED Dénia and Benidorm are preparing to celebrate the solidarity act "Book x 1 Kilo" in favor of the Solidarity Table in Dénia (10th edition) and the Spanish Red Cross organization in Benidorm (9th edition). An act that in previous editions has been very well received and where citizens have shown their solidarity with the most vulnerable and most needy population.

UNED Dénia and Benidorm want to continue contributing their grain of sand, showing solidarity with those who have the least because our commitment encompasses everyone and those who need us and, on the other hand, giving away a book for every kilo of non-perishable food or produce. personal hygiene or cleaning that they bring us. "In the UNED we want to continue bringing culture and training to all corners of the two Marinas", they indicate from the organization.

During the presentation of the event, the director of the UNED in Dénia, Raquel Martí signs; Jaume Tortosa, Secretary of the Associated Center UNED in Dénia and of the Solidarity Table: Spanish Red Cross, Extend your hand and the Salvation Army; the PAS of CA UNED Dénia, Carolina Artigues Campos and Esmeralda González in Benidorm.

Jaume Tortosa, Secretary of the UNED Associated Center in Dénia, indicated that "The UNED is a clear reference regarding social work in the town of Dénia... the UNED cannot be left out of any solidarity action, it is a pride to be next to these people who do it day by day…we have been talking about energy poverty for 10 years, it is a satisfaction doing this and a disgrace because we would like not to do it”.

The Solidarity Table continues to insist that there are more and more people who need help and with greater economic needs, the number of families who need help continues to grow instead of decreasing, it rises and more than 600 people, including 200 boys and girls, hence the importance and the value of this action carried out by UNED Dénia.

During the presentation, the associations commented that basic food, sugar, legumes, rice, porridge, personal hygiene products, diapers, are needed, but they have unanimously insisted that what they need most is whole milk.

The ways of collaborating with the event have been explained, through volunteering, bartering or donating books if possible for children. The citizens of Dénia were thanked for their manifest solidarity and the participation of schools, as Carolina Artigues PAS UNED Dénia commented "5 schools and an institute have confirmed their attendance, in addition, students of the Historian Chabás will be part of the volunteering during that day because many are needed volunteers".

citizens of Dénia and Benidorm for their solidarity ...”.
