The regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, has recently signed the resolution granting the declaration of Festival of Regional Tourist Interest of the Valencian Community to 'Moros i Cristians de Dénia'.
This is a distinction that Turisme grants to festivals that offer special relevance from the tourist point of view and involve an appreciation of Valencian culture and popular traditions.
Obtaining this honorary declaration, which has been published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana, contributes to the promotion of the festival, the municipality and Dénia's tourist offer.
This declaration is framed under Decree 119/2006, of July 28, of the Consell, regulator of the declarations of festivals, itineraries, publications and audiovisual works of tourist interest of the Valencian Community.
In this way, the festival of 'Moros i Cristians de Dénia' becomes the first festival in the town to obtain the declaration as a festival of regional tourist interest in the Valencian Community. Dénia has a festival declared of Provincial tourist interest, 'Les Cars', in addition to the Festival of National Tourist Interest, 'Bous a la Mar'.
