This weekend, the city of Dénia celebrated the proclamation and exaltation of the highest representatives of the Fallas festival for the 2024-2025 financial year. Two intense days that kick off the presentations of the city's Fallas commissions.
'Fire' to introduce Carla
On Friday night it was Carla Puerto Plà's turn as Fallera Mayor and her court of honour. After receiving the Fallera commissions of the city and the entities from other invited towns at the Dénia Town Hall, the Fallera procession moved to the Social Centre.
The event, conceived by the fallero Jaume Pérez under the name 'Fuego', was presented by the fallera Neus Moncho. As a tribute to fire and what it represents for the Valencians, the event began with a reception on stage by the president of the Local Board Fallera, Jaume Bertomeu, of the members of the court of honor, the ladies Àngela Castle Llull, Isabel Comes Guardiola and Sandra Olmeda Durà.
Along with the mayor of the city, the great star of the night arrived, the fallera mayor of Dénia 2025, Carla Puerto Plà, who placed the bow tie on the banner of the Local Board and received her official appointment.
One of the most anticipated moments of the night came with the exaltation, by the former Fallera Mayor of Dénia in 2019, Amparo Petrie, who dedicated some loving words to Carla and her court, highlighting her invaluable love for the Fallera festival.
To conclude the event, Laura received the affection of the Fallas world of the city of Dénia and of different municipalities during the round of homages. The Fallera Mayor Infantil of Dénia, Laura Ramón, and her predecessor in the position, Miss Mar Moncho, Fallera Mayor of Dénia 2024, did not want to miss this moment.
In addition to the Fallas commissions and festive entities of the city of Dénia, representatives from Sant Joan d'Alacant, Picanya, Jumilla, Benicarló, Elda, Sant Vicent del Raspeig, Elx, Alzira, Sueca, Torrent, Xàtiva and Alacant participated in the event. .
'Falera fairies', the dream of Laura and her court
On Sunday morning, attention was focused on the xicalla fallera and its most important representative: the girl Laura Ramón Candel, the fallera mayor infantil of Dénia, and her court of honour. 'Fallera fairies' was the theme of the event, prepared by Lluna Pérez and presented by the girl Noa Dacosta Mud.
The members of the court of honor, the girls Maria Lobo Ribes, Alejandra Giménez Escrich, Claudia Ramis Baeza, Ainhoa Garcia de la Reina Far, Maria Garcia de la Reina Far, Elena Mañas López, Alma Cholbi Ivars, Blanca Cholbi Ivars and Helena Gomez Ivanova, were received by the president.
With all of them on stage, the audience stood up to welcome Laura Ramón, accompanied by the city mayor, who dedicated a few words of complicity to her.
Pedro Manchón Pau, a journalist from Benicarló and a Fallero at heart, was in charge of addressing a few words to Laura and her fellow members of the court. Excited, Laura received the affection of her travelling companion, Carla; of the person who held the position last year, the girl Candela Marco; and of the festive entities and Fallera commissions of Dénia.
In addition, representatives of the festivals of Sant Joan d'Alacant, Picanya, Jumilla, Benicarló, Sant Vicent del Raspeig, Elx, Alzira, Sagunt, Torrent, Xàtiva and Alacant came expressly to greet Laura.
And in this way, with the magic of the Fallas fairies, an intense Fallas weekend in Dénia came to an end that neither the main Fallas nor their courts will ever forget.
Denia has to be dark again:
The failures have to be horrendous.
The guy with the black ponytail who lives in the castle has to argue with his wife again.
A rain of mud must stain the bell tower of the Assumption.
And the truck that waters the street has to leave at night.
And the "dark army" has to go out again in the Three Kings' parade.
That.
