"We've been doing nothing for two years, gentlemen rulers"

12 September 2024 - 13: 29

OPINION | Gent of Dénia

Since 2021, Gent de Dénia has been requesting lighting on a section of Calle Fénix. Specifically, on the section between the end of Paseo de La Marineta and Helios, a short section. We already said no to reading the Quijote, but at least so that you can see and be seen when you walk or run along that stretch.

It's been more than 3 years since the first request, but we don't see anything happening, we're still on tenterhooks.

In 2022, the motion presented by Gent de Dénia was approved in plenary session and, subsequently, it was even approved in the Participatory Budgets for 2023. We arrive at September 2024 and we do not see any streetlights. So, at least for one night and as an alternative, we have resorted to the most traditional of lighting systems, candles. We have even used vanilla-scented ones. But we are very afraid that it is not a viable solution.

We request that, since it is a very busy road, it be provided with soft, non-polluting lighting, so that people who are going to walk or run there can at least see where they are stepping with a minimum of safety, especially now that it is getting early at night.

We do not like things like this to take so long. It is truly very sad that more than three years go by from the moment something is approved until they are able to implement it. It is too long and gives one pause, even more so when it is something that another party like Gent de Dénia is requesting. You have shown much more efficiency in the matters that you are presenting, you have not allowed them to be delayed. The roundabout on Avenida del Marquesado with Pintor Llorens is a good example.

Please enlighten us, gentlemen of the government.

Don't you like to keep the traditions of centuries ago like the bous a la mar? Then light torches or candles! !!

  2. Leon says:

The initial section of Ondara Street (behind the Repsol gas station) is in the same situation, in total darkness.
I have been asking for years to install two light points and so far there has been no response.
Every night I walk down this street I remember my childhood and it seems to me that I am reliving the post-war period.
I hope that this situation is corrected and at the same time the visibility of the public parking that coincides with this street would be improved.
    regards

Margalló Street, Safanoria, Pesol, Pi Blanc. No light
Please, let's fall on the street!!!

  4. Arana says:

Can you have an area as dirty and disgusting as the one on the other side of Fernando's restaurant? It seems unbelievable that we have been living in our houses for many months and we have the filth right at our door.
Friends of the City Council, come to the other side of the rest.Fernando and you will see everything described. It is time for you to get started.
to fix everything and at the same time cover up the stream that is always full of dirty water. DO SOMETHING.

  5. Mamen says:

Carrer Xalana with Carrer Bot. No lights or demarcation of roads and parking for 20 years.
A demand that has never been heard and there are many more of us affected neighbours who pay a lot of taxes.

I totally agree, but these "governors" think that we only spend the summer and I'm tired of telling them THAT WE LIVE THERE ALL YEAR ROUND (AND DONE IN WRITING, NO COMMENTS IN THE NEWSPAPER, which I also claim), Is it really that difficult to put up lights???, so expensive??? They only spend taxes and in a very INEFFECTIVE way in the center of Dénia, !!ABANDONED IN THE MARINAS!!, We will continue to be a pain.

ANNA, we will agree with the above proposal, if not because on the tram it is not easy to walk and even to the forests. Hi there, you see along the road that also have access to security that provides a minimum of lighting.

  7. Gent of Dénia says:

ANNA, we will agree with the above proposal, if not because in this tranquility it is not easy to walk and menys to the forests. Hi there, you see on the side of the road that they also have access to security that provides a minimum of illumination.

  8. ANNA says:

Take a pool please, avoid light pollution, take a walk to the edge of the sea, escort the sea and twenty stars so that people walk to the night there….

ANNA, I would be in agreement with the proposal, if not because in this tranquility it is not easy to walk and menys to the forests. Hi there, you see along the road that also have access to security that provides a minimum of lighting.
