El Hospital de Dénia exhibits a sample of the research work against cancer carried out by the AECC Scientific Foundation -Spanish Association Against Cancer-. The exhibition, organized by the local board of the AECC of Ondara, will be exhibited in the Main Hall of the health center until mid-February.
The exhibition, which is entitled "50 years changing the history of cancer", includes ten of the most important milestones in which the AECC has investigated. Among them is the discovery of Dr. Antonio Castells, which was a turning point in colon cancer research by demonstrating the efficacy of the fecal occult blood test in the early detection of this tumor, or the finding of Dr. Mariano Barbacid, who found new effective therapeutic routes to treat pancreatic cancer.
The exhibition aims to give visibility to the great milestones in cancer research, as well as to highlight the commitment and work of the AECC Scientific Foundation.
