The "falleros" ninots return to the streets of Dénia for Christmas

11 December 2020 - 11: 29

The City Council of Dénia has made public this morning the Christmas schedule the most exceptional year in decades. Despite the pandemic, the Councilor for Fiestas, Óscar Mengual, has pointed out how important it is that children receive a gift for their good behavior in such difficult months, and "end the year with a smile".

The exceptionality of COVID has forced us to reinvent these long-awaited parties, betting on new formats. One of the most striking is the installation of ninots in 11 points of Dénia. Like in FallasYes, but with different locations and, most importantly, Christmas motifs.

They will be in charge of the Fallas artists of the municipality, Enric Ginestar and the study of Rafa Cheli, with the intention of supporting this sector that has had such a bad time this 2020. Of course, they will not be of the magnitude of the monuments that we usually see in Fallas, but they will be more humble figures that will decorate the different spaces.

These 12 points where the ninots from December 18, and that will remain there until January 6, are: Glorieta del País Valencià, María Pineda square, Museu de la Mar, Jaume I square, La Vía street, Consell square, Les Roques neighbourhood, Arxiduc Carles square, València avenue (beginning of Loreto street), Chabás Park, Social Center and Plaza de la Constitució.

In addition, with the same intention of supporting a sector very affected by the coronavirus, they will have the decoration of three Dianenses florists.
