The residents of Dénia ask for more police presence on the beaches and a campaign against cigarette butts in the streets

The last neighborhood participation council of the legislature took place at the Les Portelles citizen participation headquarters. The meeting was attended by representatives of the neighborhood associations of Bassetes, Deveses and Montgó.

During the council, the neighborhood representatives presented their concerns and questions on issues that affect the general public and specific problems in the neighborhoods. The mayor of Denia, Vicent Grimalt, And Council Pepe Doménech y Óscar Mengual They spoke with the neighborhood representatives, responding to their incidents or collecting them to consult them with the responsible municipal departments.

Among the general issues raised were the need for more police presence in the beaches and in disseminated areas, concern about the possible worsening of health care given the future reversal of the hospital, the request to give more publicity to aid for the installation of solar panels and thermal insulation of homes.

The associations also suggested carrying out a campaign to avoid cigarette butts in the streets, especially numerous in front of bars, due to the pollution they cause and the bad image for the city. They proposed that the campaign include ashtrays at the doors of the bars and that it count on the collaboration of hoteliers and merchants associations.

It was also requested to improve the transparency of sewerage information so that the neighborhood can estimate when it will have to be connected and provide the necessary financial resources. In addition, the situation of the rental price of housing in Dénia was addressed, as well as different points to improve road safety in Bassetes, Montgó and the urban area.

For its part, the Department of Citizen Participation reported on the state of implementation of the participatory budget projects and presented the news for the next edition, in which 100.000 euros will be allocated exclusively to projects decided jointly by the Neighborhood Participation Council, the of the Mayor and the local Council for Children and Adolescents.

Lastly, the Federation of Neighborhood Associations regretted the absence of the opposition political parties in this Neighborhood Participation Council. Regarding lighting, it was reported that this week the contracted company will replace the Montgó and Bassetes luminaires.

    How is it possible that the opposition parties were not present? What a crap opposition, there they show how little they care. As for the City Council, they are only scratching votes.
