Tomorrow premieres "The Substitute", the film about the friendly Nazi retirement in Dénia

The new film by Óscar Aibar, The substitute, opens this Friday, October 29 in theaters throughout Spain. Therefore, viewers across the country will get acquainted with one of the blackest stages of Dénia's past, when it gave shelter to high Nazi positions after World War II.

The film, which has actors of the stature of Ricardo Gómez (Tell), Vicky Luengo (protagonist of Riot gear, by Rodrigo Sorogoyen) and Pere Ponce (Snow White), It was filmed in Dénia during the month of October 2020 in multiple locations ranging from the Baix la Mar neighborhood to Les Roques. Synopsis

Spain, 1982. A young policeman (Ricardo Gómez), hardened in the harshest neighborhoods of Madrid, accepts a destination in a small seaside town, hoping to cure his daughter and gain quality of life. Once there, he is involved in the investigation of the strange murder of the inspector whom he has to replace. Little by little, his suspicions lead him to a beach hotel where several old Nazis reside who have been claimed by many countries for crimes against humanity.

    Finally, even with a movie, the issue of yore comes to light. They escaped the chaos, the destruction, the death they had generated for a gifted retreat as gods. They could have stayed to die with dignity for their ideals of greatness but no, like rats and on top of that they were treated like the new señoritingos and poor of those who did not.
