Marina de Dénia presents the 3rd edition of the League 100 Solidarity Shovels 2021 Suma

This morning has been presented, in Marina Dénia, the 3rd edition of the “100 Paladas Solidarias Suma League”, which will be held on Sunday, September 19. The director of Marina de Dénia, Gabriel Martínez, the president of the Rowing Federation of the Valencian Community, Alejandro Ruiz, the teacher, Vanesa Nicolau, the doctor, Mª José Santana, (both from the Club de Rem Marina Dénia), the Local Police Juanjo Palacios, and the president of Amunt, María Isabel Llorca.

“If the Club de Rem Marina Dénia has come so far in the Spanish sports scene, it means that it is made up of people with a lot of capacity for work and effort. Our congratulations on all the successes they achieve year after year. And, as if this were not enough, they also organize solidarity events like the one we are presenting today, ”says Gabriel Martínez.

For his part, Alejandro Ruiz, thanked Marina Dénia for "hosting this historic club in its space." This league also seeks to make the sport of rowing known to people who have suffered breast cancer, showing them the benefits it can bring them. The ultimate goal is to achieve an improvement in their quality of life, in a healthy psychosocial framework, alleviating depression and improving their states of fatigue normally generated by the disease. "Raise awareness that more women who have gone through this terrible disease can approach rowing for a very healthy exit."

According to the doctor, Mª José Santana, “rowing has several notable benefits, the psychological part that a team sport contributes and, above all, the physical part since surgery can affect mobility. What rowing does is a muscle pump that benefits lymphatic drainage. I would incorporate it into breast cancer recovery. "

The first part of this challenge will take place from 9 to 11 hours, in order to promote the event so that the associations that currently exist to fight breast cancer in the Valencian Community, family, friends and anyone interested can try the Rowing for free, for 30 and 50 minutes, in different boats such as felucca, llaüt, paddle surf board, etc.

The second part of the challenge will take place at 11 a.m. and registrations from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., in the tent set up in Marina Dénia. The heats of each challenge will have a distance of between 350 and 400 meters (100 strokes) without tacking, more affordable for participants who rowing recreationally and can enjoy this challenge without being a very high level of demand. The race course will be installed in the Marineta Beach Casiana.

The challenge will have two categories, Brave, made up of eight breast cancer survivors, the helmsman athlete (monitor or coach) may or may not be a breast cancer survivor. And the Equal category, made up of a minimum of one athlete surviving breast cancer, the rest of the team will be made up of athletes from health rowing groups who have a non-competitive license, the athlete helmsman (monitor or coach) may or may not be a survivor of breast cancer.

María Isabel Llorca wanted to emphasize that “Amunt is a very young organization and already the first year they thought of us. It is being very gratifying to be able to see that women who go through this disease can join this sporting discipline "

The second challenge will be held on October 3, at the Benidorm Nautical Club, in Benidorm and on October 21 at the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante.
