More light to combat the shadows of the pandemic this Christmas

The Department of Festivities has projected the extension of the decorative lighting of Christmas to more points in the city, which are added to the 28 streets, squares and buildings illuminated last year.

The points that are added to this performance of Christmas atmosphere are the Plaza del Convento; Elx Street Park; the site of the old Marqués de Campo clinic; the Chabàs park; Avenida del Marquesado, between Calle de Diana and Calle del Turia; the street of the Knights; the building of the Municipal Public Library (c. de Sant Josep); the roundabout of the Pedrera hospital; Pare Pere street; the Tenor Cortis square; Avenida del Cid (to the area where the Roques fails); the Mariana Pineda square; the street of Sant Pere; Gabriel Moreno street to the Benidorm square; the Fontanella square; the square of Sant Josep; the square of Sant Antoni; the square of the Marina Alta and the square of Pere Eiximen de Encarròs.

The contract for the service of assembly, disassembly and maintenance of the lighting decoration for the 2021 festive events, includes two lots: the 2020/2021 Christmas lighting, with a maximum tender budget of 62.000 euros without VAT; and on the other hand, the illumination of Calle del Marqués de Campo during the Festival and Moors and Christians in honor of Sant Roc 2021, with a maximum budget of 4.500 euros without VAT.

The lights will be LED or other similar technology that guarantees low electricity consumption.

Regarding the periods in which the decorative lighting must be in operation, it is established that the Christmas lighting will begin to be installed tomorrow, Wednesday, December 2, and will remain until January 6, 2021; in Fiesta Mayor it will be from July 2 to 11 and in Moros y Cristianos, from July 31 to August 16.
