This morning, the programming of the 2022 "Memòria i Futur" historical memory conferences was presented to the Dénia City Council. The mayor, Vicent GrimaltAnd the councilman of Culture, Raúl García de la Reina, have made public a program that includes conferences, exhibitions and presentation of new studies on the subject and that will last from April 21 to May 25.

Vicent Grimalt recalled that the initiative began in 2018, following the 80th anniversary of the Civil War, and, after a pause forced by the pandemic, it was resumed last year with a new name, "Memòria i Futur", "because Contrary to the voices that continue to call for oblivion, we think that if we aspire to a good future, we must look the past in the face, close wounds and know the mistakes made, so as not to repeat them".

The objective of the conference, added the mayor, “is to make known aspects of our history, still recent and alive, to facilitate reflection, which is still so necessary. And to promote what really motivates us: to encourage citizens to coexist in peace and tolerance and a greater esteem for democratic values, the pillars of our society”.

The program of activities, as stressed by the Councilor for Culture, Raúl García de la Reina, "is the result of the collaboration of three municipal areas: Culture, Archives and Library", whose managers have been thanked for the work carried out.

“Memòria i Futur” 2022 begins on April 21 with the presentation of an innovative study that unites the horror and pain of the historical time of the Second World War and the Civil War with the use of music as part of the propaganda machinery of the fascism. The study, entitled “Music and political repression. From Nazi Germany to Francoist Spain”, will be presented by Enrique Téllez, coordinator, editor and co-author of the book, and Josep Lluís Galiana, writer, musicologist and director of EdictOràlia. It will be at 20:XNUMX p.m. at the Dénia House of Culture.

For the 23rd, the proposal is a play, The invasion of the barbarians, by Arden productions, which offers us a dual vision of the war based on two stories linked but separated by half a century, between the end of the war and the approval of the Historical Memory Law. The work was nominated for best show and best text of the Valencian performing arts. The function will be at 20:00 in the Auditorium Theater of the Social Center.

It is about the work Canteros de piedras negras, adoquinas y sindicalistas en la cantera de la Mola (Benissa-Calp, 1926-1936), a study on a subject very little known up to now: labor unionism in the Marina Alta.

From April 29 to May 29 it will be installed in two venues, the Center d'Art L'Estacio and the House of Culture, an exhibition of paintings by Antoni Miró entitled "L'hospital sueconoruec d'Alcoi. As explained by the Councilor for Culture, it is an exhibition of 43 works by Miró based on photographs of the Alcoi hospital, which during The Spanish Civil War was born with the social support and solidarity of Sweden and Norway. The exhibition is curated by the historian Ángel Beneito.

In the month of May, the tribute to the Dianenses victims of Nazism in the Mauthausen field, in the municipal cemetery, will be organized again on the 5th.

Hello. , The Hon. Grimalt persists in historical oblivion. Since he says to close wounds and the whole context of the hysterical memory journeys is based on demonizing a single party. Those who won.
Mr. Grimal, I don't know your age, but it seems to me that you have already known better things in the postwar period than the calamities in which you always recreate. Dedicate your efforts to simply straighten out all the aberrations that politicians are doing in Spain so far this century. This is contemporary and can move something. The rest are salvos, gunpowder noise to distract attention from what is now needed and even more so after the devastating effects on our economy and health caused by this pandemic. Where by the way the current government, as you yourselves have taken advantage of to have some rising salaries and perks..
Lead by example and don't let yourselves be stepped on by Catalinity, that is more current and important for the people of Alicante.

    • Ignacio says:

In agreement with everything, just a nuance regarding “Catalanity”. That is another smoke screen to divert attention from the real problems. Don't worry about “Catalanity” that has no future. What's more, if you know the Catalans and Alicante well, it's like mixing oil with water. Different ways of thinking, understanding and living life. Impossible to mix them.

cpino44@gmD. Ignacio will be like that, if you say so, I hope so! The president of the Valencian community seems to have another tendency. .
        You reassure me. Thank you.

  2. Cesar Pino Dominguez says:

How they like to recreate themselves in the war they lost for being immoral, useless and perverse. Always helped by the communist hordes. That is not talked about, better, we are already fed up with your false and bad taste in saying that in an "uncivil" war only a few were killed."
On the other hand, we are also fed up, especially those of my 1944 generation. We have worked since we were children with the dignity of men, a category that is achieved by surrendering and demanding self-improvement in order to prosper, without the need for exhibition or false unions freeloaders, neither political parties nor hos…..
We were not Francoists, that did not exist, nor were we forced to appear so
. And to finish. Present us with an income statement, simply a quarter of the achievements made during the Franco government, with 10 or 12 ministries and only perhaps 20 or 22 advisers, who were the ministers themselves with their training. Dare... It's alright!
    Good afternoon.

    • Ignacio says:

What they can also present is the list of families who seized the properties of others with the excuse of political affiliation. As well as the families that, due to political affiliation, could set up businesses: pharmacies, tobacconists, lottery administrations, banks, savings banks, hotels, restaurants….and access civil service jobs or those linked to the public administration: lawyers. managers, notaries. If they want to talk about everything, let them do so, they know the story very well because it is the story of their families.

  3. Luis says:

For when the days of Historical memory of corruption?
