They rescue two people in front of the Cova Tallà when their boat runs aground

28 July 2022 - 15: 42

The Dénia Coast Guard Service has received at 10:05 this morning the notice of one of the kayak companies that operate in the Cova Tallà, warning that a boat had just run aground on the rock bar in front of the cave.

The coast guards, who were nearby, have set course for the accident site, finding upon arrival a boat with two people on board and completely stranded on the rock.

In the first place, it has been verified that the two people did not have any damage, beyond their own fright due to the accident. Then, they have been rescued to put them in a safe place. With the help of two divers who were snorkeling in the area, the coastguards have provided them with life jackets, which the divers have taken to the damaged boat, putting on their safety clothing and accompanying them, also with the help of a lifebuoy. to the Dénia Coast Guard ship.

The rental company itself has taken charge of the boat for its subsequent transfer to the port.

Thanks to the immediate notice of the kayak company and the rapid intervention, in less than an hour everything has been solved, thus avoiding possible greater evils.

From Coastguard Dénia, a joint service of the Dénia City Council and the Generalitat Valenciana, it is recalled that we are in the season of greatest influx of people at sea, so extreme caution must be exercised in navigation and security measures to board before going to sea.
