An oasis above our heads: the enviable terrace in the heart of Dénia

It cannot be seen with the naked eye, but in Marqués de Campo there is a disconcerting terrace that stands out for being, apparently, out of place. Who has a swimming pool in the main commercial artery of Dénia? The image is somewhat surreal, but at the same time it must be admitted that it is quite envious.

What will be the new hotel on the Dénia port façade seems to be finalizing the work, so it could open throughout this summer. What is shown to be completely finished is the terrace that it will have on the roof for its clients.

Lower terrace height

This space, which as we said includes a bathroom area, already has furniture and vegetation in pots. In addition, it has a couple of sculptures, highlighting the enormous baobad tree by Toni Marí, which has been part of the port landscape since last October.

With two levels, the upper area seems to be dedicated to bathing in the pool and corners with armchairs, while the lower area could be used as a terrace for drinks. Be that as it may, it will not be uncommon to hear splashes over our heads soon.

The swimming pool area on the roof makes a wonderful finish to the well needed Hotel in a perfect position, what the architect achieved in such a small area is fantastic, the total Finnish is great, well done to him.

I don't think it's bad that there is a hotel in that location, with a terrace on the roof and a "false" pool, because it is on top and you have to go up some stairs, and then go down, which makes it look unsightly as such. What seems to me to be a tacky 15 is that little tree with a rusty effect that looks like a dry tree, which is a danger on windy days and of a size totally disproportionate to the space in which it is located.

  The tree is made of corten steel. When it rains or with humidity it leaves some orange stains on the ground that cannot be removed with anything. But that will be the least of your problems.

We have seen it build since its inception, the pandemic paralyzed it and a very unique building was already sensed! CONGRATULATIONS because it is a small hotel, the truth is that I did not know it, but it is something that Denia needed in the heart of the city. And, by the way, the sculpture is spectacular, but it is spelled Baobab, ending in B… 😉

The neighbors of the building opposite have direct vision. Coca-colas can be passed among other things. If they set up a walkway they can even use the pool and watch TV in their living room taking a bath.
