The National Police have arrested four men, aged between 22 and 42, in the town of Dénia for allegedly committing a crime against public health. They were using a supposedly legitimate association as a cover for the indiscriminate sale of narcotics.

During the search, more than four kilograms of marijuana, hashish, and cocaine were seized, and supplies for distribution were found. The premises were closed by court order, and the investigation was reported to the Dénia Investigative Court.

Start of investigations

The investigation began when the possible existence of a covert drug dealing organization was detected. The establishment, with no sign or apparent commercial activity, was subject to constant traffic at different times of the day. National Police officers, in collaboration with Judicial Police and Citizen Security Units, began investigating the establishment.

During the inspections, it was confirmed that the establishment had no registered activity record at the regional level. Furthermore, it was discovered that the establishment's basic utilities were in the name of a person who could be linked to the criminal world. The association's manager also had a criminal record.

Indiscriminate sale and search of the premises

A discreet operation was established that confirmed that narcotics were being sold regularly at the establishment. On some days, lines formed outside the establishment to purchase drugs, as if it were a real drug supermarket.

After obtaining the necessary judicial authorizations, a search was conducted. Inside, numerous containers labeled with marijuana, zip-lock bags containing the same substance, and pre-made homemade cigarettes were found. Some of the drugs were hidden in appliances and furniture, and areas within the premises where cocaine was also being consumed were identified.

More than four kilograms of marijuana, a smaller amount of hashish, and some cocaine were seized.

Arrests and judicial situation

At the same time as the search, two men, aged 42 and 22, were arrested. The premises were sealed off by court order. The investigation continued to locate the other suspects, leading to the arrest of two other men, aged 22 and 23, shortly afterward, also in Dénia.

Two of those arrested had previous convictions for similar offenses. All the proceedings were reported to the Dénia Duty Court.
