A large herd of wild boars roams at ease in Dénia

29 September 2021 - 09: 24

It is a very common image in recent years: cement is no longer a barrier for wildlife. The animals take advantage of the late hours of the night to roam the streets of Dénia. The difference is that it seems that there is more and less fear.

This morning again a large herd of wild boars has traveled different streets of Dénia. It was on Avenida Miguel Hernández and the adjacent streets (in the video, which makes us Pablo Vera, you can see how they look for food in the parking lot of the IES Maria Ibars). It is not the first time that they appear in the area, being one of the most frequented by this visitor. But not the only one, since they have dared to walk through streets as central as Diana or even the port.

  1. Alfonso says:

Well, they can be dangerous. There are many recorded deaths from wild boar attacks.
It seems good to let them live, but in their habitat. If a herd gets used to coming to ours, this coexistence is not compatible. You have to hunt them down and take them away from here. And if there are too many ... you know what to do against pests. We cannot be gullible.

Lasst sie leben auch Wildschweinen haben das Recht auf Leben

  3. Paul DaSousa says:

    It is "herd" not "herd"

  4. Francisco says:

I have not seen them but, in the surroundings of the Hermitage of Padre Pere, on the slopes of Montgo, you can see earth and moved stones that have all the appearance of wild boars.
