Unanimity in Dénia to stop tourist apartments and measures against illegal ones are announced

August 30 from 2024 - 10: 41

It is a fact: Dénia approves the precautionary suspension of new licences for tourist apartments in its urban centre. This was the vote on Thursday during the ordinary plenary session of August, where the provisional measure was unanimously supported.

All parties represented in the Dénia City Council have agreed to put a precautionary stop to tourist rental licences and the possibility of converting commercial premises into this type of accommodation. During the next year, which can be extended, no more licences will be granted in the town centre of Dénia, which offers time to study the package of measures proposed by the study carried out by the University of Alicante and see the best way to implement them.

El PP was the opposition party that was most critical during the debate, as they consider that the local government was late, which has already caused problems with access to housing in the city. Similarly, in a statement issued later they indicate that the Dénia City Council is following the policies that the PP is already implementing in other cities.

Rafa Carrió, spokesperson for Compromís and Councillor for Housing, pointed out, however, that the PP decree that was approved this month supposedly to deal with this problem "does not provide solutions to the problems of tourist apartments, but rather facilitates them." In addition, he considers that "it does not present real and effective measures to act against illegal rentals that proliferate day by day in our residential buildings." In this sense, he took the opportunity to announce that they have joined an initiative of the Ministry of Consumption that consists of pursuing the advertising of unlicensed holiday apartments.

And what happens in Montgo? Because there are many tourist rentals there and they also cause a lot of nuisance. I think we have the right to have the illegal ones controlled and the others to see what can be done. It is unbearable one year and another worse. They don't give me food anymore. I earned it with my almost 45 years of work. Tourism provides Mercadona, LDL, etc. with the restaurants but nothing more.

You are very annoying. Come to work!! And take care of the ILLEGAL tourist rentals in Las Marinas!! There are many!! Send for inspection. I would simply put a "heartless landlord" next to your houses. You bring out the worst in people.
